Electrical Help!!!

Ok so i was adding a LED light that i had in my cargo area...

The thing that went wrong was that the positive and negative wires touched so a short was created, now the interior lights dont work, te radio has no power, no power door locks, and the alarm does not work...

I hope my problem is as simple as replacing a fuse, but which fuse is it!!!????

thanks

Yeah, it's most likely a fuse.

There should be a "map" of the fuse box in both the owner's manual and often on the inside cover of the fuse box. I have yet to look at mine, but this is how most cars are set up. Worst case senario... start pulling fuses until you find the one that's blown.

I don't know what year your Fit is, however I've got the manual for the 2009 Fit/Fit Sport/Fit Nav

Fuse #14 is indicated as protecting the circuits "Key Lock/Radio". It's a 7.5A fuse.
Fuse #27 is indicated as "Door Lock Main". It's a 30A fuse
Fuse #61 is indicated as "Radio". It's a 30A fuse.

Maybe this will help, I don't know.

yeah its a 2008, but thank you for trying...

what i dont get is how i pulled all the mini fuses one by one, which was a big pain in the BUTT in the dark and its like freezing outside... with no luck...

i think i may have to take it to the dealer and plead incompetence to the fact that i was doing something i wasnt supposed to be doing... lol...

There is another fuse box under the engine bay that also has a set of small fuses. It's right next to the battery. It's a triangle box. I bet it's in there that's burnt.

this is why people shouldn't be playing with their own cars electronics. 2 threads in a week of people blowing fuses.

First, let me say that I trust your opinion and have used it on several occasions and appreciate your expertise on the forums. However, I strongly disagree with your statement here, and I think it goes against pretty much everything Fitfreak stands for.

Without these forums I would have never trusted myself to touch any part of my car, ever. Since joining Fitfreak, seeing the DIY's, opinions from experience, and responses from experts in the industry, I have been genuinely inspired to experiment more with not only my Fit, but other cars which I own, and have performed quite a few successful upgrades, and most importantly have benefited and learned a LOT in the process.

I too, blew a fuse a few weeks ago and the good people of Fitfreak.net (notably HONDAMATIC) came through for me in a big way the same night and led me exactly to the correct fuse saving me a trip to the dealer. It turned out to be a faulty LED which had polarity issues from the factory and would not have worked regardless of who installed it.

I realize that you can't condone people hacking away at their car's internals at a whim......but at the same time everyone has a right to do whatever they want with their car, even if they lack specialized training. Fitfreak.net should remain a trusted source to explore our shared interest in all areas of the Honda Fit, and I for one will continue to offer any support I can for all fellow members, regardless of their presumed level of knowledge, understanding or training. Is this supposed to be a forum where everybody already knows everything about their cars?

setter11 - I believe fitoromocto mentioned fuse #8 under your hood, I would check there first, give us an update when you get the chance!
