HID's on a Fit

Does anyone know of a HID kit for the Fit?

fitjunkie Apr 22, 2006 06:55 PM

I'm thinking about the same thing too, Fit is too great not to have HIDs...but a kit will probably not work since the housing is a reflector, we need to retro fit HID projectors inside the housing in order to give that clear cutoff...but the car is too new for me to try anything, I'm still learning the car a bit, anyone else had better experience??

im planning on putting HIDs on there. if anyone finds a decent kit for it post it. ill do the same.

I just installed the KAS HID 6000k HIDs on one of the member's car and they work pretty good and colour is decent. It doesn't have that very bluish colour which it looks generic. I will try to get some pics and post it later.

A kit will work, it's just that it will blind those in front of you. The color and the beam pattern wont be great either. Hopefully someone here will do a HID projector retrofit. You can check www.hidplanet.com ; that's a great forum for DIY HID retros.

I just put my 9006 HID kit into my fit, i had to make a adpater ring which took about 10 minutes, the kit i have is a 6000k kit, and it's extremely bright, just a hint of blue in it, which won't matter much since the headlight housing is blue and the stock bulbs reflecting off of that make teh color of the headlights lokk blue from factory, lol, but it work out nicely, however it would be much better with a retro-fit projector done to it, or getting the real adapter plate that is made for this purpose to get a HID bulb to fit inside of the H4 housing, which is also made to help get a clean cut-off, so i'm going to be working on getting the correct stuff as soon as possible.

The whole idea of a retrofit is not to blind on coming traffics and have that OEM HID quality, that beats any HID kit, and not to mention the possible harrassment from cops when they stop you...I did my own retro fit to my old Integra, and everything worked out so perfectly, I'm looking forward to do the same to the Fit, hopefully in the near future....HID is so divine...it'll make the car look much better...

This is where to go to get a great HID conversion... Look great on many cars we have done...

Tomh Apr 23, 2006 04:07 PM

same here, i put mine on last night, but with it being wet weather outside you can't see as much better as dry weather, though ofcourse it's brighter then stock in wet, lol.

So let me get this straight... The Headlights are H4 and the Fogs are H3 correct for the NA Models?

headlights are H4, and the fogs are H11, looks like a mini 9006.

fitjunkie Apr 23, 2006 10:12 PM

the picture shows a lot of glare, as you can see how bright the whole back trunk of the car in front of it....i don't think a kit will work out good at all, too much glare....anyone done a retro fit to the fit/jazz??

Tomh Apr 23, 2006 11:18 PM

there is one way without having to get t retro-Fit kit, which involves getting a adapter ring and a real HID bulb, the way the adapter ring is made makes teh HID kit have a true cut-off line like it should.

such as this one on ebay.

corey415 Apr 23, 2006 11:20 PM

Well thats just a casper shield...

While it prevents glare, the beam pattern will not be evenly dispered. The cutoff most likely isnt razor sharp either. Notice how that page doesnt show any wall cutoffs. If you want the true HID experience, then you have to bite the bullet and install HID projectors.

Tomh Apr 23, 2006 11:24 PM

I agree on it not showing a true cut-off, which i'd like to see aswell, but keep in mind not all cars with HID have projectors, which i'd also like to see how they look up close with either causing scatter and UFO's or not.
