Driver's Side

Just in my driver and passenger foot well for me. I like the extra lighting for at night though. They don't appear to be as bright as yours are in your pictures, but they aren't dull either. Don't think I have a pic of them at the moment, but I'm sure you get the idea lol.

Thanks. Its was made with a 1 meter (divided in 2) water proof blue led strip (only US$15.00) hooked at the dome light in the fuse box. Wiring was made using instructions of a D.I.Y. found here at Fit Freak. :)
Your engine bay is awesome. How many and where the leds are located in there? |
Thanks!
Maybe 30+? 1- 24 LED strip under the tower brace and 8 or more 5mm blue and orange up front. There's a plastic shield in front of the radiator and I drilled it with 3/16" holes and the 5mm LED's fit snuggly. The strip LED's were hi priced till recently most everything I've done is with the 5mm LED's I just bought 50 blue 5mm shipped for 2.98 off Ebay. If anyone's interested let me know & I will look the seller up & send the info on. Mike |

I might replace the dome light LEDs for something brighter soon as a couple of them have burnt out already. |

Do you guys remember how many volts you are running to each component and/or how many volts max are allowed at each component? I'm looking at doing this all myself but don't want to need an extra power source or get too extensive with it.
For example, I heard that the Dome light is 5v, but is that also the max allowed, or can it be replaced with an LED board that runs 12v, etc. etc.? Thanks, Indie |
Welcome Indie,
If the LED's you have are 5v max then a resitior will need to be added in a 12v system. If your buying LED's then check to make sure they are for 12v applications, most are. look them up on E-bay LED 12v. The power use of the LED is much less than the oem bulbs (amp. draw) |
Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and got a nice blue led kit for about $10 and put it in. It's not as bright as the white LED, which is expected, but it's brighter than the OEM, plus has a nice blue accent touch. I'm not sure about others, but I heard that some lose the fade effect when switching them out. Mine did not, still a nice blue fade which I'm happy about as well.
Here is an album of before and after. http://imgur.com/a/9GeKN#tNfaK |
dang i need to replace the lights in the ambient lighting they are weak
|
The original dome lights in our FIT sucks - it is relatively easy to replace: 1 screw driver and 5 minutes max... the foot light (that ties to your fuse box takes a bit longer)... :)
|
Both map lights, dome light, rear cargo light and licence plate lights:cool:
