fx35 retrofit troubles

So I've had this retrofit installed now for about 3 months on my 08 fit sport, and have put on about 25,000km with them so far.
Everything has worked excellent up until now.
The drivers side light fails to ignite.
I just went out about an hour ago to get a car wash. We just went through a cold spell here but its now warmed up the past couple days and the roads have been really wet and sloppy. My fender liner is slighty open at the front so there has been some water getting in behind the light area from driving and when I wash the car. I didn't think enough to do any damage to anything.
During the car wash I kept the lights on and they were both working. I drove to the bank right after and turned my lights off. When I came out and turned them on again only the passenger side came on. tried switching high low beams on/off but it won't turn on.
I will pull the bumper off tommorow and see if anything is loose. Hopefully it is just some loose wires or something.
My retrofit was done by HID Illusionz.
I have the FX35 projectors with d2s bulbs and Matsushita gen 3 ballasts.
Has anyone had any problems with their retrofits? bad ballasts? bulbs?
I thought from the looks of things the Matsushita ballasts were pretty weatherproof. I'm not sure what they put on the roads here in Alberta but if its some kind of salt/sand mix would that fry my exposed electrics more easily?
Should I try replacing a bulb first? Is there any way I can tell if its the bulb or the ballast other than replacing parts?
Any thoughts?
Now I just hope the warm weather holds out till I can get this fixed :o

You could try swapping out the ballast from the passenger side to the driver side and see if the driver side works. and if it does and the passenger side doesn't then it could be the ballast. It happened to a friend with the same ballast it went out so he had to get another one.

I have the same set done by rich as well... it is MOST likely water in the ballast...

when I got my matsu. gen 4's the first thing i did was get water proof silicone (for bath tubs) and put it around every section water could get through...

just try to swap the ballast or take it inside to warm/dry out.
