Exclamation Retrofit hid's... Only driver side high-beam works... NEED HELP!

I just got some retrofit hids for my car and they look great! The problem is when i turn on my high beam only the driver side comes on, the passenger side just stays normal. I know it works because every once in a whiiiiiiiile the passenger side high beam will come on but ill try it again like ten minutes later and it stops working again. Any ideas on what the problem is? Should I consider returning my lights from where I got them (that would really suck)? I could really use some help?

Could be a bad bulb/capsule, bad ballast or loose wires.

If you had spare parts you could try swapping them until you found the problem, but since it doesn't seem like you do, you'll have to talk to the folks you got it from.

Most likely ballast went bad. It happened to me a couple times already.

It is not the ballast the light would not ignite if it was. What type of projectors? With Mini h1 and mini d2s some people are having problems with the solenoid sticking hence the shield only moving in one projector. all though this could happen to any projector ie FX-r, acura TL, etc, etc. Other wise check your wire harness... Im sure you know but HiDplanet : The Official Automotive Lighting Forum - The Buzz has a wealth of info when about hid, led, hir, diy retrofits, and projectors... good luck

Your problem is probably with your solenoid. I had the same problem. Not sure what projectors you are running but I have the Morimoto Mini's from TRS and my solenoids were "sticky" meaning they would stick in the high beam position or stick in the low beam position. Try shooting some wd-40 (very small amount and dont get it on the chrome of the reflector bowl) into the piston of the solenoid, then cycle the solenoid a bunch (high beam...then low beam...then high beam...etc).
