11 Attachment(s)
heres my retrofit.
morimoto d2S using 4300k HID for my headlights and 3k for my foggies took me a while to adjust my headlight to the correct height so it can shoot far enough also adjust my driver side foglights because it was not aiming correctly as shown in one of the pictures but i fixed it as well. feedback welcomed!!!!!! im located in torrance,ca if any of you guys need help with your retrofits! :) Attachment 35543 Attachment 35544 Attachment 35545 Attachment 35546 Attachment 35547 Attachment 35548 Attachment 35549 Attachment 35550 Attachment 35551 Attachment 35552 Attachment 35553 |
Looks great. Are they just low beams or high/lowbeams? Also what parts did you use to retrofit those, like projectors, etc. I like the look and the light output is amazing.

its pretty simple. i used the oven to take apart the headlights and painted inside with a black semi gloss paint that can handle high heat and resealed everything with a nissan butyl sealant that works magic. i used JB weld to hold my shroud to my projector. PM me if you have any questions. |
nice job but, it seems you missed a step. you should have also painted your reflector bowl as you are still causing glare with the light that is leaking from the shroud and the projector bowls.
i have remedied this by painting the reflector bowl with a titanium silver spray paint. I am now thing of sealing the projector bowls completely to eliminate any and all light leak. |

i think jjin's right. looks like there's glare in your photos, especially the photos showing the beam pattern against the walls.
you still did a better job than i could have done |

you still did a better job than i could have done doesnt seem to bother any of my friends when we were driving together.. so i hope its road safe :).. ( main reason i did projectors instead of HID alone).. and cut off lines = sexy.. ill check out my lights later to see if i glare.. because i did a walk around from all angles and distances and i dont really see a glare.. maybe some from my foglights though. |
Looks good!!! A whole bunch of us have Mini D2S, what ballast and bulbs you running? im running 85122+ and love em... The glare from the reflector(I did mine silver) I'm sure is not as bad as the foglights with PNP, they glare with halogens lol...
|
I used trs ballast and bulbs..
I used ddmtuning foglights due to them being only 20 minute from my house haha |
35 watt because I want more bulbs to last for a while haha

Good Job. Just got my morimoto D2s in today. I plan on doing them on a full day off. How long did it take you?

I took 2 full day for my retro. Not because of wiring or mounting, but mainly the shroud and then the headlight lense to dry. Plan out everything and it will all work out.
