Cup Holder Lights
I have notcied a pair of lights that light up your cups when your lights are turned on. I was woundering if it was possible to increase the power or appearance of these lights to make them stand out more. Any suggestions or ideas? |
swap the LED bulbs
yeah but... wouldnt the same amount of power be going to them? thus the same amount of light..
different LED's have different resistances, thus they can produce more or less light.
I see... so iam gussing id have to soder them on or whatever..
I'd like to increase the output on those too....if i eventually get the ambient lighting kit (or rig up something like that), I'd want to get the colours to match

Interior Illumination: Part # 08E10-SLN-300
No other part # given for the different colours though |
cool man, ill send this to the guy that will help us and get a price.. are you intrested?
It retails for approx CDN$90 up here, so it would have to be significantly less than that for me to pick it up as it'd probably be sent from Canada to the US and then back up again. But thanks, anyways!!
oh wow.. do you know weather or not it would just hook up for the US model just as if it were being installed in a cad model?
I have no idea. You would assume that there wouldn't be that much difference between the US and Canadian models, but people have found (in Civics, Accord, S2000's etc.) that sometimes there are wiring and other differences.
I would think that even if the wiring isn't compatible with a US model, you can always make it work. Remember, the lighting kit will be wired to a switch. the switch goes into the blank spot next to the power mirror switch. If I were to get this kit, I would rewire it so that the lights would come on and go off when the doors are open and shut...but that's just me. I'm thinking about just getting LED strips and installing them in the footwells. Probably cheaper too. The 8th Gen Civic has the light kit available in the US. Maybe look into that and see if you can make that work with the Fit?? |
Here's a pic of the light kit for the Civic:

hmm.. I woudn't mind the switch.. but yes wiring them up to turn on and off at will and come on with the door or hatch open is also a good idea just like the dome light..
For you to do that you would need to make the main ground to the whole system a switched ground. It would almost be a piece of cake... heh I am not sure what the wiring looks like, we have yet to do one where I work.
