It doesn't light up the entire housing. You can get Refractive HID LED's now that "should" work a lot better. I don't have one of the refractive ones yet but I wish I had waited and got them instead.

Why not just hook up the original bulb in parallel, painted black with high-temp paint or covered in opaque foil, and stuffed out of sight...

Has anyone tried this idea? I have an EE degree from college, and the basic principle is the same as a load resistor, except some of the heat is converted to light thru the lightbulb, maybe even helpful since it's NOT as hot because not all the energy is converted to heat. Cheaper than buying for a load resistor too, hookup is the same.

true, but you can buy 3ohm 50w load resisters all day long for <$20 shipped...

There's no reflector in the third brake light, just a heat shield. So even a side-firing LED bulb will look pretty bad in there. Best way is to put in a board. There's a sticky on how to do it in this forum, and I've done it myself on my car.

a cheap man's reflector would be aluminum foil stuffed in a parabolic shape in there. Good luck :)

Are the GE flasher modules also on the gauge cluster? I have an upgraded flasher module here next to me so I can run these free LED bulbs from our vendor and would like to get it all going.

Did anyone figure out if the GE's have a external flasher or are we still fugged? :(

Put in 45w H4 LED headlights, parking lights don't work now.

Hey guys, I just recently changed out my stock halogen headlights for a set of LED H4 45w 2500/4500 dual beam from VLEDS.COM, but now my parking light don't turn on at all. I've read the threads about hyperflashing for the turnsignal and whatnot, but they work fine. It's my parking lights that won't turn on. They are on the same wiring harness as the headlights so I'm assuming my cpu is getting a signal in the flasher unit about a bulb being out cause of the LEDs, but no one else has mentioned the parking lights just not working versus flahing fast or bulb out lights. So could someone please explain what the cause is and if it's the flasher unit what resistor load I'd need to put on it for just the headlights? Thank you
