HEllo everyone! Just wanted to share my 2nd mod to my ge8. I did a lot of reading here and on other forums about HID's and so far the best one to get for a reasonably cheap price is from DDMtuning. I was originally going to get the $30 ebay ones but after reading soooo many bad reviews i decided to just order from DDMtuning. The only thing i was worried about is that they have a reputation of having the slowest delivery system on the face of the earth. Much to my surprise I found out that they now have a walk-in storefront here in San Diego. I went over there, picked up the 3000K HID kit for only $32!

Why yellow?

3000K color temp is the most yellow color you can get. Personal preference. Especially useful in the fog.

nice! did you plug em right up or did you use a wiring harness?

NICE dude yea i picked up my HIDs there too, i actually just ordered online to get 55w fogs at 3k ordered them on sunday hopefully they come by the weekend. Cuz they dont carry 55w in the store. you should change all your lights to LEDs looks soo nice

so are HID foggies not as blinding since they're low? get some feedback from a buddy you drive behind if u can and how about a pic with all lights on facing the car from further away? ok, that's it lol |

I ordered a HID kit, 35 watts 3000K bulb from DDM Tuning. The kit was shipped from China and arrived two weeks later-10 business days. Overall quality seems to be fine. I had issue with the connectors and plugs needed to be jiggled to make electrical contact. The HID kit appears to be brighter than the OEM equipped halogen 55 watts Osram bulb in the foglight. There is more light provided to the ground from the HID foglight than the OEM headlight to the road ahead. Hmmmm... time to retrofit the headlamp with HID kit from http://www.theretrofitsource.com.
Does anyone have the 55 watts kit install and don't have any problems with heat melting the foglight housing? Even though this is not a problem with the OEM foglight 55 watts bulbs I want to confirm that this is not a problem. Is it worth to upgrade to 55 watts ballast? |
I just installed my HID 6000K, as a recommendation, if your set comes without male H11 connectors (just the pins) you can get the connectors on eBay is very easy to install, those pins are standard.

Looks great man. Going to do the same thing after the holidays. Going with 3000K from DDM as well. I had yellow Nokya's in the fogs but they didnt last long at all. Went through several pairs before giving up on them. I had a cheapo HID kit in the fogs before, 3000K, but no harness to the battery so they never fired correctly. But when they didn, they were amazing, especially in the bad weather.

Do you have to run a harness to the battery for the 35w?
