New 2015 DRL LED mod question

I have a new 2015 EX 6 speed. I purchased fog light bezels off eBay with the LED daytime running light built-in. Simple positive and negative wire coming off of them. Does anybody know how I would connect to these so they would turn on and off with the car? It would be cool if I could somehow disconnect the headlight daytime running light and have that power the LED running lights but I'm not sure if that's possible I think the only way to do it is to hook them up to an ignition wire so the Ron all the time. Let me know what you guys think

The daytime running lights working by using pulse with modulation to send an average 5 volts to the high beam filament of the headlight h4 bulb. 5 volts will not properly operate a 12v led. If you install leds to replace the halogen headlight bulbs you should remove the fuse for the drl function. There is a source of info somewhere on fitfreak.net indicating which fuse.

Aftermarket fog lights will run on 12 volts. I'm not sure where you should get your 12 volts from. Ideally I'd install a switch in the cabin.

these are voltage sensitive. At rest the battery is like 12.8 volts. When the engine is on the voltage is higher from 13.2 to 14.4 volts. The DRL module senses the voltage and turns on and off based on this. I too got the same ones. It may or may not be the same chinese product. I took them out of my 2015 to put them on my 2017, but decided against it because the color temp was like 8-9 Kelvin with a blueish tint. I wanted a 6500k true white output, but didn't work. I did like the switchback function though with the blinkers!

6500K for the fogs LED versus the 8-9000K with blue hue.

Splice in with your running lights is what I would do if it were mine so you can just turn on the amber markers and have the LED's lit.

Agreed. In the daytime, I run with the parking lights on. This illuminates the running lights on the back end for a little more visibility. Any little bit helps around here as the Fit just kind of disappears with all the giant trucks, minivans and crossovers.
