Disable OEM Security ?

I know there are a few guys on here who knows Car Security systems. On the Fit, is here a way to disable the security system without it deactivating anything else?

Reason why is, I just got my Viper Alarm system installed at Best Buy and my OEM alarm system still works! wtf!

Any Idea? I'll eventually go back and ask the guy but wtf..lol

retaining the factory alarm is a good thing.

and i dont think people will post on how to disable the factory alarm. there may be potential thieves lurking.

hmm.. I guess your are right. It's just kinda wierd that it does this and what if I was to sit on the key and it disarms.

so you mean your factory keys, when pressed the "unlock" button, it disarms?

yes the factory keys. I found out that the viper alarm is piggy backing the OEM alarm. So I guess it's okay. I have two alarms in my car in working order.. =)

and I was trying to figure out how to disable the Security System to save battery juice. We live in the country, and yes, crime does occur in the boonies, but we already have a good security system that gets fed once a day (Woof!). Our new, used Honda Fit has a worn out original battery that isn't that old compared to how long our other older vehicle's batteries last. We got it home and the next day tried to start it and it was dead. Since it is the Sport model, it has lots of bells and whistles, and my husband suggested there was something running to wear the battery down quickly. I happened to walk past the car after dark and noticed the two security lights blinking and realized this was partly why battery was dying so quickly. I looked in book on how to disable it, but says it should not be done. So, I left the car doors unlocked, and that did the trick. Yes, I know, I need a new battery, awaiting its arrival this afternoon.
