Just picked up a Kenwood DNX5120....

So I was steered away from the Honda Garmin NAV unit while out tonight. I found the Kenwood DNX5120 GPS unit. I like the fact that it has a garmin nav interface and runs on SD cards.

Anyone have pics of this unit installed? I also am looking for a good lead on the install kit for this on our fit as the place I picked it up did not have one......

Thanks...

Indeed it is. Paid $799 for unit plus nav piece at best buy tonight. We bought 2. One for the fit and one for the new XB we also picked up this week (the wife and I just did a dual car swap due to darn gas prices).

Return It

Hey man, since it sounds like you haven't installed it yet, I would bring it back to wherever you bought it. Not sure what you mean by $799 for the unit plus the nav piece since the DNX5120 has nav builtin. Also, sonicelectronix.com has it for $679 + shipping. I think other people on the forum have used them with no problem. Save yourself about $100 each.

There is a version without the NAV module, but I'll check them out and swap if this unit has it as well. thanks for the heads up....

yea, the DDX-512 needs a separate NA module, but I would think it's easier to get it integrated. One less thing to hook up.

I found it for 640$ on Amazon :)
When you get it in take a few pics if you could and tell us how you like it. Its a rather affordable in dash unit.

Do a search on Kenwood DNX and you'll find someone with pics of an install. Not sure what the differences are with this version, but it looks exactly the same. I think his name is Rexxxxx

fyi. Rexx's HU is the DDX. It has no NAV built-in and requires the GPS add-on. They look exactly the same though.

Thanks man.
That looks so clean. For the price you cant really go wrong for this in dash, ive read some reviews and they all sound really good.
I may hold off for a few months on getting my new in dash nav unit, i know these are dropping in price really quik, especially the older models. I bet in 3-4 months ill be able to find on these under 600$.
