Can Fit Sport bucket seat rails be moved back?

Hi, I'm a 2008 Fit Sport owner since December 2007, and I'm loving the Fit. I'm also 6'6" tall and 315 pounds, and I "fit" in the Fit (it's the only car of its size that I could get into.) However, another inch or two in legroom for both the driver and front seat passenger would be welcome. Does anyone know if the existing seat rails could be moved back an inch or two, or if there are seat rails available that would allow another inch or two of rearward seat travel? I would like to keep the seat folding options working properly, allow forward seat adjustment (for my wife), as well as maintain proper airbag seat sensors operation.

Thanks for any information anyone could provide.

I'd like for the seat to go back further as well but I'm betting those three things you mentioned will become issues if you modify the seat rails. If someone moved the rails and didn't screw those things up I'd like to hear about it.

I have the same problems, I'll try and look at it this weekend pending weather and see if it can move one or two clicks further back. Looking at the video where the side airbag comes into play, i don't see and worry about interference.

See this thread in DIY to move back almost 2". Only requires 4 drill holes, and allowes full forward movement, seat functionaility and airbag sensor usage as original.

Thanks!

Thank you for the reference. That reference is very helpful. I may have someone who is more mechanically minded make the mod.
