Details on the Fit's electrical?

I'm in the process of piecing together an audio system for my Fit. Let me say that it won't be amazing, but it's not gonna be small, either. I'm talking about 250RMS to the front comps (set of Alpins type-X refs) and nearly 1400RMS to the sub (a DD 2515).

My problem is I can't find ANY info on the Fit's electrical system. I don't know what kind of amperage the alt pulls or anything of that nature. I know it can't be very much and that battery's pretty damn weenie, but I'd like to know the details.

If anyone of you out there are running 1500+ watt sound systems, what did you do? I'd really prefer not to be buying a HO alt, but I've a feeling just a Big 3 upgrade won't cover it.

NOTE: Don't say capacitor. Not gonna help for my application.

I had started a thread similar to this because I have a problem with my electrical.

I have about 150RMS to my front components (Pheonix Gold RSDs) and about 800RMS(@2ohm) to my sub (Audioque SDC2.5 10"). I have done the Big 3 minus the alt to bat since it was a bit hard to access it. I generally see around 14.4V at idle and usually somewhere in the low to mid 13s when playing my system. Recently I have been seeing drops in the low 12s without the voltage climbing back up to its usual range.

I have a GD3 and I remember reading somewhere that the stock alt put out something like 50A but that is probably somewhere in the upper RPM ranges. I also read that a HO alt would be limited by the ECU so to me it didnt seem like it would be worth the money.

Since no one responded to my thread I was just going to upgrade the front battery first then add a second in the rear if necessary. I dont know if the stock alt would be able to keep the newer batteries charged and I dont want to find out the hard way (it may look like I have to anyway)

I will search for the exact numbers and let you know, maybe we can help each other out since we seem to have relatively the same power draw

Hmmm. So you're in pretty good shape even without a full big-3 upgrade and stock battery? Interesting.

I'm ordering an amp for my comps (100x2@4ohm) so we're looking at a total of ~1500RMS for the whole shabang, so if you're kicking around 950-ish with that setup, it looks like getting the full B3 and a new battery would probably take care of things for the most part, maybe with some drop when I hit full tilt.

Seriously, though, 50amps? That's a hell of a lot lower than I expected. I was thinking at least 75.

Side note: NICE choice on the speakers. How's that AQ treating you? I'm thinking of picking up the HDC.
