Alright here are the pics...sound is pretty good inside the Fit. There is no BOOMING bass, but nice responsive bass with a little boom. You can set it up to be loud but the bass won't be clean anymore. All in all I replaced my Infinity Perfect 12.1 sub with the Kenwood KSC-SW1 subwoofer and couldnt be happier. I am not a bass junkie, I just wanted some clean fill in bass.

Thanks guys...fyi the amp is not for the subwoofer, but for the components. The subwoofer has its own built-in amplifer. The instructions also mentioned that you CAN hook up this subwoofer to an amp if you wish to.

 

Hmm I was looking to add some bass to the system but didn't want to add an amp. That amp can just hook into the aux jack then correct?

 

how is the bracket attached to the back of the seat? just on the cardboard backing or the metal stud?

looks like its screwed in.. just in the back of the seat, only thing i would worry about would be puttin the seats down and loadin up the back.

 

i know it's screwed in, but the back is a metal frame with some kind of composite material (cardboard?).. so my concern is the bracket coming lose

You can hook up the amp directly into your rear or front speakers. I used a line output converter and connected it via RCA to the subwoofer. You can see the RCAs in the picture coming out of the wire loom.

The subwoofer casing is made rugged so you can put things on it without damaging it.

I am not worried about it ever coming loose from the back of the seat, but then again I could be wrong.

 

My question (soon to own newb) is if you were gonna do a larger system how much room is there where the spare tire goes.

 

I am not sure. There are some other people who have done more extensive sound systems than I and have used the trunk for their equipment. I think for just daily sound a 10" subwoofer in a sealed box is perfect for a car the size of the Fit.

 

I just heard this unit installed on a Honda GL1800 inside of the top box with venting cut on the bottom -
IT IS AWESOME on a motorcycle - now on my list of future Fit mods!

 

Yeah, it suprised me how good those little speakers sounded.

 

FYI, the subwoofer nor the amp has fallen off yet! weeeeeeeeeee

 

This subwoof is so thin... Would this fit under the front passenger seat?
And what is the best price you saw it for, e-bay or elsewhere?

 

The subwoofer could probably fit below the seat, but the back area where the headrest would be when you fold down the rear seats.

I think I paid less than $150 for them on eBay, but the dude took a month to get it to me. That's after I complained and left negative feedback.

 

I have one of these and have been thinking of somehow mounting it under the rear seat cushion, facing down.

I don't think there is enough room under the front seats due to the gas tank.

 

I think it would be a problem if you installed it under a rear seat... when you fold the seat down. It may! not lay flat on the floor

 

Hmmm... going to have to check this out. I thought the rear seat bottom height never got close to the floor. Thanks.

 

Has anyone tried installing this under the rear seats yet? Has there been any negative effect in folding the seats flat? I'm really interested in this unit and am curious of what my options are.
