My second Fit -- traded in the '08 Sport for '19 LX
Not the best picture, but you guys know what a brand-new '19 LX looks like! I hated to say good-bye to my '08 Sport, but that was the decision we made... so here's the new one. #FitNation

Congratulations on your new Fit!

Sweet! Do you like it better then the 08? I'm sure the updated amenities are nice.
|
I'm sure it's also quieter! Congrat's on the new car!

Well, after one day of commuting in brutal Boston traffic, my left knee is happy that we opted for the CVT instead of the stick -- my wife and I are both purists and for a long time, held out for the right to shift gears, but she requested an automatic this time, and with my commute, I was happy to comply.
It's quieter -- besides just being new, I can tell that reports of additional padding/silencing were accurate! Amenities -- I was worried that in 2019, my iPod Classic might be left out in the cold, but not so -- being able to control the volume and +/- tracks right from the steering wheel is an unexpected bonus! Here's a shot of the car at work. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...8a480683d6.jpg My '19 LX after its first commute! |
Another work shot. Still just an ordinary '19 LX, but I like it!

congrats! any plans for it?

Ha, Plan A would be to drive it until it won't go under its own power -- that's how long we usually keep cars, in this household! My wife recently junked a 2000 Jeep Cherokee that she bought new. I assume your question is about mods, though? Probably nothing significant. I didn't care for the tires that came with my '08 Sport, but although they were pretty new when I bought it in 2014, those were probably not OEM tires. I'll see how the stock ones deal with winter, and if I don't like them, might do something better. Beyond that, nah -- where I live now, I have no garage, or even much of any space to work on the car!

Nice!
Congrats on the new Fit! Hope you're enjoying it. I just traded in my '09 for a '19 EX-L. I hated to say goodbye as well!

After 3-1/2 months, I like the '19. It's definitely got a more sedate personality than the '08 sport, probably because of the CVT -- but now that it's pretty well broken in (2500 miles or so), I found a straightaway and gave it a pretty good flog, a week or two ago, and concluded that it's probably just as fast as Fit #1. I miss the stick shift -- but not in Boston traffic! No issues with the car -- it sounds a little different at idle and slow speed, but again, I think this is just that the CVT is different and makes... different sounds. If this car proves to be as reliable as the '08, I'll be happy with it, but certainly in terms of initial quality, everything is as expected.
Oh, ha -- I have made exactly one mod: added a cargo cover for the rear compartment! :D Urb |
Cvt
I just added the cargo cover as well :D
Is it more sedate than your '08 even in sport mode? My '09 was also a CVT so I don't know what I'm missing with the manual. I do love the paddle shifters though. |
