YUS! FINALLY! ...it...came...

That's right, it finally arrived and now i'll recount the story of my Storm Metalic Silver Sport Manual Honda Fit.

It started last year around March, my parents said they'd help me buy a new car if i had all A's at the end of the school year. Well, i did. at first we were going to get a yaris hatchback (so glad i didn't - so ugly) but then we went to visit my brother in college who had just bought a Night Hawk Black Fit sport manual. Well, i loved it, my dad got to drive it and loved it too, and so we decided we'd get the fit.

Then finally on July 23 we placed a deposit on one from Castle Honda in Morton Grove, IL. They said 6-8 weeks. Castle Honda sucks. a lot. end of the 8 weeks i call... "o yea... it'll be here in about two weeks." well, i call two weeks later... "we're expecting it in about 6 days." 6 days pass... "yea, they just built it on the 25 [of september] it should be here in about 20 days." of course they had lied to me all the other times. and they continued to lie to me when i called, until i got my dad to call them, i figured they were just BS'ing me cause i was only 16. so my dad calls and they piss their pants and hand him over to the manager. who says he'll call us back tomorow. anyways, Castle Honda sucks.

and because of this suckiness, i continue to shop around while we keep our deposit on the Castle Fit, just incase it finally comes. i find a dealer that says they have one that is being built tomorow heading their way. i put a deposit on that one as well, figuring i'd much rather do business with the people that know what the hell they're talking about and know when it will arrive. (january 18th they said)

about a week passes. now throughout this time i'd been driving my grandpas '03 yellow ford escape and about 3 days ago, my mom says to me. what're you doing on saturday? i tell her i don't know yet and she asks if i would be able to clean out the escape. i say i guess, why? and she says my Fit is here, and has been for two days! damn her... anyways, i clean out the car the next day and on the same day trade it in and pay off the rest in cash for the Fit.

Today i went on a long drive with my dad (who used to race in street rallies, and loves the tiny thing) and just got used to clutch a little more (i'd already driven my brothers twice.) and now it is sitting in the garage. i can't wait to get out again in it!

if you made it this far in the text, i thank you. i love this car!

I was in a similar boat as you. I put my deposit at Holler Honda (which sucks!) and I kept it there. I looked around and found Classic Honda. They didnt have anyone waiting for 5speed. I put my name down and everything. The first one came in, SSM 5speed Sport but I didnt want silver. So I told another member on this board. He picked it up. My car was the last 5speed coming into Classic Honda till Dec. of 2007. Also the last Fit until January. I waited a total of 3-4months, including the month wait at Holler.

Holler is still getting Fits but theyre late deliveries for people that ordered in EARLY 06. I have no idea whats with that company. They just suck.

Congrats! I felt just like you getting my car. Although its not my first car; its my first NEW car.
I love my Vivian!!!!

lol, its funny cuz ive been the same...almost two months with mine and im feeling the same as the first day. Youll probably want to wash it with "special" sponges, dont want anybody near it, or want to modify anything just yet, but youll get over it. I was mad when the guy that tinted my windows wet all of my interior.
AND...not to scare you..but be aware its a car. No matter how much you love it or take care of it, things may occur, such as scratches or dents. But nevermind, good luck with the car and hope you have fun with it same or more as I do(I doubt btw..hehe)

hey man, you know, i named it mighty mouse, cuase its small, grey, and beastly, and so the only "graphic" i've been thinking of is a sticker to put on the rear windshield inside of the black border around of a white sillohuette of mighty mouse, with his "M" in black where it should be.

seems it's a bitch and a half to get a manual fit, hence why I went with auto.

Its funny that you mentioned washing it with special things. I started a new job just before I got my Fit and we have a car wash. (not touch free) I hand wash it with a brush on a stick and then run it through the wash. Makes me a little nervous because I dont know what could be stuck in the machine brushes.

Just thought it was kinda funny because Ive never really WASHED my car since I bought it. No bucket, no mit, nothin. I have waxed it. Only because the brush at my job leaves swirls. Its going to feel good, that first real wash. :D

fits_all 12-11-2006 11:07 PM

wow...your kinda brave though..id never put my car through one of those, it washes your car with the same dirt iin it lol
Everytime I wash mine, it feels so damn good that feeling you get..and i do it almost every week though.... ahh pleasures of Life

um... i was just putting some stuff in the car (flashlight, first aid kit, kleenex, stuff like that) and i was standing outside of it with all the doors closed but unlocked, and i get a text message from my girlfriend. so i'm standing with my car key in my left hand, and my phone in the other right next to eachother, writing a response. and right after the message sends, all my doors locked. it tested it one more time, and it did it again. then i tested it with the doors already locked to see if they would unlock, and they didn't, so at least no one's going to steal my stuff thanks to a text message, but it's weird that they would lock. even though, yes, i know, they're both radio signals, youd think the key would run on a different frequency or something.

weird.

Are you serious?!?! lol I never heard of something like that happen.

quangalang 12-12-2006 07:32 PM

it's not your phone that's locking your doors, lol. it's your car. if you unlock your car and dont open the door the car will lock after like a minute.
go unlock your car right now but dont open the door, it will lock itself again
