Hybrid Racing shifter cable bushings and short shifter were a no-brainer. Amazing products, especially the short shifter.

Nice to see you back in a fit man.

Welcome back! Had no idea you sold the S2K. As always, they come back :3

Mugen axle-back has been removed and replaced with a factory muffler since I'm beginning to save up for a K24 swap. I think that the diameter on the Mugen unit would be too small for the larger engine, so I don't see a purpose in keeping it and I might as well try to sell it starting now. Same goes for the K&N intake setup, but that's still on the car because I'm a ricer and it makes fun sounds, lol.
Not much else done to the car, at the moment, beside signing up for a track day in March. I'm going to replace the brakes with the ITR "BBK" setup along with the Aletheia Motorsport rotor shim kit before the track day. Found a deal on some Hawk HP+ TSX brake pads and Centric Premium rotors for the Mini Cooper, so I'll just need the calipers and I'm set on that front. I also took some photos of the car along with my girlfriend, @sheshootscars. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...de903cbcdb.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...f3a0cda935.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...33e8b81355.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...f71ecb9f9e.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...09131d8843.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...9a45d46f8d.jpg |
New OEM JDM taillights are on and coated with Jescar Power Lock.

Since my last post, I've made some progress on the car. I still have a few things in the works before my upcoming track day, but enjoy these updates in the meantime.
We'll see how these tires perform on March 6. Attachment 85508 Mounted, balanced, and installed. Attachment 85509 Last Sunday, I hit 200K miles on my way home from a Racecar Party track day at BRP. Attachment 85510 Piecing together information I found online, I had Techna-Fit build me a clutch line that also deletes the CDV. Attachment 85511 While I was in there, I also installed an MTEC shifter spring. Attachment 85512 Attachment 85513 |

Phoebe has received a plethora of upgrades since my last post. She is just about ready for her first track day on March 6.
Ever since discovering the TCS top hats, I knew I wanted them. When Seamus restocked, I jumped on the opportunity to purchase a pair before it was too late. Attachment 85500 We converted the rear drum brakes to a disc setup utilizing EP3 Civic components and also replaced the wheel studs with new OEM stuff. Attachment 85501 Here's a photo of the completed rear disc conversion. During the install, we discovered that the Scarebird rear disc conversion brackets are not the correct thickness which results in the brake rotors not sitting centered within the brake calipers. Conveniently, Scarebird offers a disc spacer that will center the rotors. You could also mill your caliper brackets or rear disc conversion brackets, but for $20 shipped, I went with the disc spacers. Attachment 85502 With track duty on the horizon, we replaced the front wheel bearings and hubs as preventative maintenance. Considering that Phoebe has over 200K miles, it was time for some TLC. Attachment 85503 I'm a big fan of the ITR/Mini BBK for several reasons: cost, availability of parts, ease of installation, and increased thermal capacity. We ended up removing the anti-rattle spring clips from both front calipers because they were contacting the brake rotors. A larger brake master cylinder and Fastbrakes front/rear brake lines were also installed during this time. Attachment 85504 Photo of the completed front brake upgrade: Attachment 85505 Photo of the completed rear disc conversion: Attachment 85506 Because we installed new wheel bearings and hubs, Phoebe got an alignment to make sure everything was dialed in. Beautiful car man, bummer about the S2K. I bought a 05 S new and was one of the most fun cars I’ve had. Fit looks killer with real brakes. Have fun at the track day

Phoebe's first track day was a success! The new brake setup performed flawlessly throughout the day. The tires also performed well and provided plenty of feedback. I like how the car is set up and am looking forward to my next track day, April 23.

Man that’s a great speed shot! Car looks great with the bronze wheels

I've always been a fan of blue mirrors because of their anti-glare properties. I figured we'd shed some weight at the same time and go with the APR Performance Formula GT3 mirrors.

Fit looks awesome! Sucks about the S2000 but glad you are finding joy with the Fit.
BTW your GF does great photography work. Checked out the gram, some really great shots on there. |
Any plans for body work? (lip, bumper etc.)
