Cojaro's Fit picture thread

Might as well start one.

Washed her early this month, just got around to posting pics. It's rained and snowed and then rained again since I washed her, so she's a dirty girl again.

Anyone got some tips on applying wax? I notice more and more swirl marks after applying wax, seems regardless of what pad I use. Should I use MF pads and lay on as big an area as I can with the amount of wax I put on the pad? It seems my MF cloths glop up pretty quick. I hate using 4-6 per waxing.

How well did the paint on your muffler hold up over winter? I painted mine back in May '07 and it was fine up until this past winter and it's starting to chip. Gonna have to take it off sometime this week while I'm on break and respray it :(

Love the axle-back, makes the back look fantastic.

So far it's holding up pretty well. I haven't noticed any visible chips. Did you sand the metal before painting?

Thanks. haha. Actually i'm not new. I'm renew. If that makes sense. I just didn't log on in a while, then came back to logging on frequently. School got me busy. I knew that my MISSPELLED word seemed wrong. Didn't count though. Laziness got the best of me.

Yeah I did, it's probably just how much road salt they like to use up here in New England, either that or I knocked it on something.

Anyways, your car is lookin' good.:vtec:

hey as far as the wax probs==
if you buy the wax the pad it comes with should be fine- i have meguiars tech wax paste .. and i use a MF to get it off... (...the wax people :) )
u might just not be letting it dry enough and rubbing it too quickly.
also make sure you are turning the cloth almost constantly bc it will reconstitute on the rag and then you get smears of "fresh" wax

davela72 Mar 17, 2008 12:10 PM

My suggestion is to stop using "wax" altogether. Try using a sealant instead, much easier to work with and lasts waaaaay longer. I sometimes use a carnauba as a topper over a sealant primarily for looks! I've been reading many good things about Meguiars #21 synthetic sealant lately.

Looks pretty good. Nice and clean. Drop that motha chicken!
If I had a black Fit I know Id have swirls all over it. Funny because people always point out my swirls on my MR Fit. If I had a black one, Id probably kill myself. JK.

Memphis doesn't have the best roads. I've already scratched the front lip pretty bad recently. Maybe one day when I have the funds. Maybe.

And now I'm hungry. I want some chicken. CURSES

Raaaaaaaaaay. Mar 17, 2008 06:06 PM

If you scraped the front lip stock you need to slow it down brosiff.
Take bumps and dips at angles. BIG angles.

Its not hard to drive a lowered car. Just takes practice and getting to know the roads. The roads arent what really do it though. Its speed humps and drainage canals. Basically leaving the roads and getting to parking or your home. And those speeds are already slow.

I drive on horrible roads and they made them worse with construction. I dont go any slower. Even the highway I take to work is under construction.
I dont scrape anything. Well, my tires against my fenders but thats it.

I want to go lower with my car. I want the tires at the fenders. Where I work, to get into the lot its like a 45 degree angle and its just wide enough for one car so I cant really get a good angle due to the curbs. I scrape almost daily leaving. Me going lower will probably be impossible to get into the lot. Not stopping me.

Stopping me is the price of coilovers. :D

car is so clean lol im jealous. From looking at your pics, man that thing is just begging to be dropped :p

Car looks nice and I really like the look of that exhaust. I think thats the one I will end up getting. The only thing I would change is getting rid of the pin stripe. But hey its your car and I am just offering a suggestion. The black looks great too!

I actually like it. All the other cars at the dealership had completely straight pinstripes. Didn't flow well on those cars, but mine flows with the windows, so it's, IMO, better.

You know what. I didnt even notice the curve of the stripe around the back window. Did it come like that from dealer. it is very unique and I kinda like that now that I see it is different.

Yep! I was a little surprised after seeing the other Fits had straight pinstriping.

Lookin' good.

My suggestions for waxing are to only do small areas at a time, and despite what the bottles say, wax in the shade. It keeps the wax cooler, and easier to remove.
