Pictures & videos from the lapping event on May 19,2008 @ Pacific Raceway, WA
I just got back from my 4th lapping event at Pacific Raceway yesterday. The event was organized by ProFormance Racing School, and it was a full day event. It was the Victoria day long weeknd for us up here in Canada so it worked out great. I didn't need to ask for any time off to participate in this event.
Weather was pretty nice yesterday. Perfect weather for lapping/racing events IMO. It was roughly around 13-18*c for the whole day, cloudy with sunny period. Pavement was dry. I only had T1R ver.1 springs, front camber bolts, recaro SPG bucket w/bride FO rail and used a set of Advan A032R "H" compound last year when I went there. I got Showa tuning dampers w/ Eibach pro-kit front springs & T1R ver.1 rear springs, SPOON catback(w/sports type oval muffler), skunk2 shifter kit, nagisa super low seat rail plus the same recaro bucket & same set of tires & rims, oh and the SPC rear camber shims.
The reason why I gave up on the eibach rear spring is, I'm really sick of how soft it is. Everytime I load up the trunk or have passenger at the back I end up having major rubbing problem. First of all due to the less negative camber I have now plus the 205/50R15 Advan tires that I'm using. Rims setup is nothing aggressive, they're my old set of Regamaster Evo in 15x6.5" +45mm all around. Finally I got fed up with it and swap the rear springs back to T1R. T1R have around 3 coils less compare with Eibach pro-kit. And it didn't rub AT ALL after the springs are replaced, no matter I'm in Vancouver, trunk fully loaded traveling down to WA taking I-5 or at Pacific Raceway.
The new suspension setup is pretty impressive, very easy to control, the rear suspension responds wayyyy quicker than before & rotates a lot better now. It doesn't feel like it's floating around and it's not bumpy either. The tires hold up well and I found my perfect tire pressure setting for the day. I can use a little bit more negative camber up front once I have a limited slip differential installed.
I figure I can get a better top speed on front straight if I stay in 4th gear before turn2. The car runs smoother without downshifting to 3rd before turn 5a. I can make it through 5a all the way after turn 6 at around 100-105kph, staying in 4th gear.
I will try some different tricks the next time I go lapping there though! I had a lot of fun and learnt a lot more about my car this time due to less participants. I am the only guy from Canada and driving the only Honda yesterday. All the other stuff are street/race prep'd Corvettes, 911Carrera/turbo/GT3, E36 M3, E46 M3 turbo, Exige/Elise
. Anyway, enough review with the event, here are some pictures!
Prepping my car at around 7:30am in the morning:

Is it gonna flip over? NOT YET, gotta push a little harder....

I used to autocross a lot. But I'm now semi-retired on that. Autocross is a good way to start on sports driving though. And u get to try out all the different stuff that u modified on your car.
definetly man,i have sooo much to learn(as you can see in my video a couple of threads down)
Wow, this is awesome! If you don't mind, what spring rates are you running, camber, and toe? I understand if you wanna keep this top-secret. ^__^
I'm autocrossing too, and hopefully going to upgrade to a better suspension system soon. Someday I'd like to try out a track day as well.
Great pictures! It's awesome to see Fits at the racetrack. ^__^

if u think seattle is crazy...try out the portland track....it's like stright from F1 !!!
track is so big and is so well built. with a big pit and with NO hills on the side of the track to flip ur car on !!

Here's one of the video that I took during the event:

I was just joking about the car gonna flip over. I like Pacific Raceway coz of the up & downhill turns. I think there's more for me to learn there. Next road course I like to try will be something like Thunderhill or Willow springs.

Thanks a lot guys for all the comments!
U can do that too. Just search for the closest high performance driving club. Clubs like Porsche, BMW, Alfra Romeo etc should accept cars in different makes too. All u really really need is a set of good tires and a set of high performance pads. Take a driving course if u can and u will learn a lot from it.
Yes sir. The T1R rear spring doesn't lower as much as the Eibach pro-kit PLUS it's stiffer. That's the reasons why it handles better without ANY rubbing now, even the trunk area is fully loaded with floor jack, air tanks & tires etc.

Thanks for sharing the vid looks like a lot of fun
you said you had the full spoon n1 right? and in the vid idk if it was just the wind noise but i couldn't really hear your exhaust at all....i'm considering getting this and is it that quiet or is it the vid?

i believe he has the spoon street type muffler, not the n1.
The muffler that I have looks like this:

Yeah I'm agreed that there's more wind noise than anything lol. I didn't bring masking tape to try taping up the mic of the camera. I heard it works well to screen out the wind noise. The exhaust isn't all that loud even with the SPOON B pipe. I'm not sure how loud it is outside though.
