Why it's not a USDM Fit? What advantages made you chose to work on a JDM instead of USDM?

We had the idea to build the Fit before the USDM Fit was to be released in the US. Also, it was a lot more cost effective to buy a used Fit in Japan vs. buying a brand new USDM Fit and then modify it the way we did. It's harder to put a K20 in the JDM Fit b/c we had to clear the master cylinder as well as the EPS (steering column).
