Bikes in the fit
 

I couldn't find the thread or any pictures. After about 30 min of searching, i just decided to ask. does anyone on here have any pictures of their bicycles in thier fit or could someone please link me to the thread that has the pictures in there. Also how many mtn bikes have you seen or put in a fit?

how about bikes OUTSIDE the fit?

I know you can fit bikes inside the Fit. Let me look around for some pics.

thats a very nice rack i was actually looking into one. but i don't that if ordered one now it would be at my house for my camping trip on friday. Where did you order yours from?

i can fit 2...with both of the front wheels taken off.

2 is a tight squeeze for me. I ride medium sized bikes. Two large bikes would be very difficult to fit.

bah not shame in that... that thing is spiffy!

I fit my road bike (large size), and it fits with the front wheel off and the back wheel extending a bit between the front seats (no JDM arm rest, it will not fit). My girlfriends bike which has aero bars fits with the front wheel off and rear tire between the pass seat and b-pilar.

Its a tight fit, but they fit...both standing up, and captured at the front forks with a clamp and wooden board to keep them from bouncing all over the place.

I needed to keep the bikes in the car for security reasons....GFs bike is pretty expensive.

I can get pics when I get home from work, but I use a roof rack to carry 2 downhill bikes. The rack is really expensive but the bikes are too so I guess it's a matter of how secure you want you bikes to be.

Oh and inside I've fit 3 bmx's without taking them apart at all and someone in the small side of the back seat. I've also got 2 mountain bikes with the front wheels off and all the back seats down.

p.s. yes I ride a lot!

I was just about to make a thread on this...

Im currently waiting for my fit to come in at my local dealer, and was wondering if its possible to fold the back seats flat and put a road bike through the trunk without taking anything apart (bike laying down). I have a fairly large sized bike (road fixie)

I have a 58 cm road bike and I can fit it in the back with both seats folded down and both wheels on. I think that it qualifies as fairly large. :wavey:

I don't think a fixie will fit in the back with out taking the front wheel off, but all you can do is try.

Here is one from me. I have not made any rack of any kind, I just put down a piece of wood under the front so it should not damage the back of the seat.
I have a cargo tray of rubber (original) in the rear so a little dirt on the rear tire does not hurt the mats.

As you see I have only taken off the front wheel from the bike. If I lower the seat, it would be easyer to take in and out of the car. But this works too.
The rear seat is still usable for a passenger. Front seat is only moved forward 1-2cm more than the drivers seat because of the length of the bike, and can still be used by a passenger.

You also see that I have space behind the rear seat for some luggage.

I'm amazed every time I use the Jazz as a hauler or need to lot of stuff with me. There is SO much space in there, that is incredible!

Not my car, but another member's here on the site. I have one bike and I do the same except with a shorter piece of 2x4. The only problem I have is that the bike still falls over when make a turn. I think I'll screw a hook onto the 2x4 and some bungee cords.
