True I mean the PT I had was pretty fast, but for like 60 miles a day, sometimes more, it kinda got me in the wallet. Plus the 3rd year I had to take it to shop every month for a year. I had to get rid of it in time for when gas was $4 a gallon. If it was manual I would probably kept it.

yeah the mpg's aren't good... i'm averaging about 22/23 mixed driving...
my pt has been pretty damn bulletproof thus far... i also think i've modded just about anything that might have worn down on me though...

bam... update.
1. as a follow up from the clutch hardline, i wanted to adjust the clutch pedal down because the throw is unnecessarily long for no real value...
follow this link to see the how-to...
it feels great... i'm able to shift quicker and downshift smoother too... recommended...
2. i also adjusted the valves... as everyone else's, the intakes were wide, and the exhaust were tight... car runs much smoother now... if you're much over 30k since the last adjustment, i'd suggest taking a look at it...
it's not that hard - very straight forward... diy and save money... i reused the valve cover gasket...
3. finally... the brakes...
as seen in my sig, i ordered slotted front rotors from adam at thatrotorshop.com and he continues to deliver for me... cross-hatched and zinc plated for a very reasonable price... you can also have them blank or slotted and cross-drilled... i painted the hat area black (they aren't painted as they come)...
i set them up with hawk hps pads and ate's new fluid called SL.6... so far i'm very impressed all around... i still find the hps' initial bite a bit low but overall grip is very good...

Very nice Fit Scott! Too bad you can't drop it (btw i'm on GF210 and i have'nt noticed more scraping) even a little less.... now that i have a drop i'm more careful
Did you have a hard time removing the Philips screws on your rotors? did you use a ratchet? higher quality bits? how is thatrotorshop so good? I was planning to put brembo discs but everytime i see your sig i wonder what makes them so great...
I will probably try to modify my clutch too next summer... aboout the valve adjustement don't you need a chart with different gapping depending on the temperature?

thanks man... the fit hasn't been driven in a month now due to: head needing to be replaced due to previous owner stripping the threads out on a spark plug, two break in's while at the local honda dealer, and a slew of f-ups with our insurance company... should be ready in 10 days... we'll see...
1. we had a small issue on one of the phillips screws... but my friend, who works at a honda body shop, bought an impact driver for just such an occasion... i'm not sure what it's technically called, but it has a phillips drive on one end and a large body that you hit with a hammer while lightly turning it in the direction you want it to go... it was slick and VERY useful... if i ever find specs on it i'll post it up here...
2. how is thatrotorshop good? dunno... but adam is... he buys good blanks from a local supplier he knows (so he gets a good deal on that end), then machines them to closer tolerances than most do, then cross-hatches them for even wear, then drills or slots or both if you want according to your wishes, and finally zinc treats them... i have just yet to come across another rotor that is finished as well, performs as well, and is priced as his are... he's been a long-time member on a pt forum i've been apart of for 6 years now and also has customer service that is hard to match... i'll keep going back to him for sure
hope that helps some... i have his email and can get his phone number if you want... just lmk...
3. clutch adjustment... do it... it's WAY too high from factory... and the cdv doesn't really make sense to me why it's in there...
4. valve adjustment - there weren't any provisions for temperature differences, just let the engine cool (duh) before you do it and you'll be good... made a noticeable difference for us... much smoother and quieter...
thanks for checking in!

i wrote about it in the "wtf happened to apexanimals fit" thread...
it was broken into something fierce while being serviced at piazza honda in limerick, pa... still pretty pissed about it really... mainly because my wife and i are most likely stuck with the 500 deductible...
perrenoud - no painted calipers... we really haven't driven it in over a month due to the stripped spark plug and break in issues... but i don't think the calipers will get to be painted for quite a while... shift boot and tint are much higher on the list and those will have to wait for months...

should be picking up the car today... it's been 7 weeks since we've driven it from start to finish...
we haven't driven it since the new head was put on... we've barely driven it with the new brakes i installed... and now we don't have our alpine radio anymore b/c some asshat stole it and the dealer isn't doing shit, and the insurance company is looking out for their own interests...
but at least we'll have it back...
