New member check out my fit - help me make some choices

Hi guys!

I bought my fit, which is an '07 in November. I have since been doing little things here and there and was looking for advice on future edits.

I also thought as a new member I should show off my fit. Check it out in my sig, there is a video and a pic.

---

Anyway, I am having issues when I have a full car load of my wheels grinding out against the wells over bumps and thought I should get some air bags for it, or hydros.

I'm kind of leaning towards air bags based on what info I have read but wanted to get some other fit owners suggestions.

My main goal is to be able to raise it up when driving around in a hurry, and with a full car load, but also be able to drop it down for when cruising the nice clean streets and when parked outside the office.

Any info would be much loved, as well as any other things you have done that you really are enjoying.

I am definetely getting a sun roof. Does anyone know if you can get a moon roof that runs front to back the whole length instead?

Anyways thanks, and I look forward to meeting all of you.

Their 17".

But I see alot of fits on this forum with 17 and 18 inch rims. Do they also rub?

I don't understand why air bags wouldn't fix it. Are you saying air bags can't raise the car higher than the springs?

It was my understanding that air bags could raise and lower the car.

Btw, would I need new springs if I were to do this? Do air bags replace your springs? Anyone have some personal experience they can share?

Obviously when I go to auto solutions they will have alot of answers but I'd like to get some info from those in the know before I just take their word as gold.

you can cut the tabs and re drill a hole up a little higher and use a friendly zip tie to old it together. problem solved and you only have to spend like $1.

I apologize for being naive, could you explain more what you mean.

My best guess is you are reffering to the wheel well insides, maybe the plastic inside there?

Do you mean the top part or the side parts? Would I be able to lower it a bit then as well?

I am really leaning towards some kind of adjustable suspension, probably something like this --> 2007 Honda Fit Air Suspension

I am worried though that is I go any lower I would be constantly grinding the wells.

I would really like some inside info on how to go about this whole process.

well.... im not 100% of what is rubbing at stock hight for you, but im sure its the little tab that holds the rear plastics to the frame. if you feel up under the fender its one of the first things you will feel. you can cut it out and drill a hole a few inches back. kinda weird explaining, but with this being done you can lower the car on what ever you want. if you want something easy to install go with some adjustable coils and drop the car on those. or go with bags, idk. your call.

sorry if this doesn't help. if i had the time i would jack the car up and take the wheel off i could just take a pic so you could see exactly what im talking about.

That makes perfect sense.

I went outside and felt and looked under there and I see what you are talking about.

I also see a faint smudge around the sidewalls of the tires in the back so it is definetely what you said.

Thanks for the advice, and I will see if the guys at auto sollutions can do it, maybe then I wont need air bags and can just drop it.

The only reason I was thinking of air bags was because of the grinding, not really worried about bottoming out the car, as the roads are pretty clean and I'm getting used to avoiding pot holes and the rougher streets.

I have seen some adjustable springs that look pretty quick and easy to adjust with a long wrench type tool.

Not a smooth as air bags, or as easy to manipulate, but definently cheaper and less problematic.

Thanks for your help, I'll see what can be done before the months out and I'll post some pics.
