Still waiting for my favorite shop to get some free time to bring it back in for the passenger side. The weight sensor is going to be the main problem. The SI rails are thicker than the Fits so he is going to have to figure out a solution. But right now the Driver side is in. Fully functional and no warning lights. He was even able to mount the seat slightly further back to give me about 2 more inches of leg room!!:D:D:D

Love the comfort of the seat. I don't even know how I managed to endure the terrible seats as long as I did. My back thanks me!

(Sorry about the dirty carpets, these were taken a few days ago and they have been vacuumed since then haha the "ebay" grease marker has been cleaned off as well btw)

UPDATE_ 2012_10_29

Here are some (crappy) shots of the driver side mounts.
At least these will give you an idea of how he was able to mate the Fit feet to the (wider) SI rails.

 not bad.

Ughhh Im so jealous. I wonder if said shop would sell a set of bracket/instructions to do this without being there. I HATE my GD seats. (Pun intended)

Very nice! Those seats are so great.

I'll take some closer shots of the mounts tomorrow.

They were able to remove the mounts from the Fit seat and reweld them to the SI rails. it looks really clean.

They look really good. And from the one picture, the rails look OEM. I was expecting to see spot welds and bare paint. Great setup, can't wait to see them pair in.

Are you able to sit lower with these seats than with the Fit seats?

MNfit 10-17-2012 09:08 AM

Looks good, those Si seats are pretty nice to sit in

I talked to them about that...

I may be slightly lower than stock MAYBE 1/2" at the lowest setting. but the main problem with lowering the seat is the plastic edging on the B-pillar's base (you can see this in the last image) gets in the way of lowering the seat further..you notice the left side getting stopped while the right wants to go further. I also noticed that since we have A/C vents on the driver side floor and the gas tank under the front seats we are also limited in lowering the fronts seats much...

Those look awesome!

I see, thanks. Yeah I wish our seat positions could be lower, but oh well.

The seats look good, can't be any less supportive than the stock seats haha.

Anymore progress?

GoFits 10-29-2012 12:38 PM

Sorry Bros!

Been a while since my last update:

Got the second seat in. The install was a PAIN in the butt! Took almost two days at the shop to get the pass side in.

A majority of the work was getting the the wiring right. If you don't have the right voltage running to the airbag etc you run the risk of setting off the bag when you start the car.

Got the weight sensor sorted and the pass airbag sorted. No warning lights and everything is functioning properly.

In total (including seats and labor) I have about $1,000 invested in the project which is a bargain compared to trading my Fit off for something with better seats.

Will post some more pictures when I get a chance.

Sit tight guys! I've been in between jobs so I have a little bit of free time...haha

Updates? A local is selling a set I'm trying to pick up!

GoFits 07-13-2013 02:28 AM

Had them in for a while now.

Love them.

Head rests stick out a bit further than I'd like...but I rarely find ones that don't.

overall very pleased with seats. add more lumbar and side bolsters keep you planted in hard corners. (feel the need to add coil-overs now because the body feels like it leans so much more)

Install was made easier by the thread by HKJazz.

Now I have read HKJazz's "diy" and honestly it drove me nuts. I'm attempting to swap seats in now and almost became frustrated when I read his post. Seeing as yours is in more recently and is fully functional, can you post on what the specific wiring procedure was?
Thanks,

Guy

I've read his thread a few times, I think you have to remove the seat belt sensor and wiring from the OEM passenger Fit seat and swap it to the SI seat because the SI seat doesnt have a weight sensor.
