Got Hondata in the mail today! Very excited! A bottle fill and tune is next on the menu, hopefully that will get done before the race on September 22nd...plus a new damper up front would be nice. Function and Form is taking their sweet time getting those in.
Tonight I painted a border on the lexan rear windows. A simple process I was almost too lazy to do but it was very easy. Mark the border of the window frame on the inside of the lexan sticker, trace it with a razor blade, remove, paint. Next up will be rivets and then install. I'm just going to block off the door handle area for now temporarily with that trusty aluminum ductwork tape. LOL Actually what I'll probably do is use JB weld to secure an aluminum plate over it from the inside and fill in the front...eventually. 😁

Got the lexan installed with rivets, which was the most worrisome part as I have read stories of the lexan cracking. I used aluminum washers and made the holes slightly bigger in the lexan than the rivets to allow for expansion and contraction in hot and cold weather. Installed with no cracks, so I am putting pumped about that!

Lots of progress today. Made some door handle covers out of lexan, painted black and riveted on. Got one rear quarter glass removed, miraculously without breaking it. Used that to cut out a lexan replacement. Stock glass was 2.13 lbs with a bit of the glue included. Lexan equivalent is 0.90 lbs. Drilled the holes in the lexan and frame every 3 inches. Marked the inner side of the lexan where the window frame touches and then removed that outer sticker frame to paint black so it will make it look clean and somewhat OEM on the outside. Attached the gutted door on the same side and sealed the Lexan edges for water proofing.
Now waiting over night for the paint to dry before I can seal the quarter window frame and rivet on the Lexan. 😎 I think I will make a new base plate for the side mirrors out of leftover lexan as well, painted black of course.

Working on some new base plates for the side mirrors. Refinished the headlights. Removed most of the sealing tar from the front doors where the plastic sheet used to be. Man that stuff is messy! Also found out I have enough lexan leftover to do the small front windows, woo woo. And I ordered one more 2x4 sheet of lexan to do the hatch window. Although it measures about 53"x19", the inside frame is much smaller and the 24x48" lexan will fit and enclose the entire opening. On the outer edges it'll be 2.5" shorter on either side but the window opening will still be covered. It's 85 CAD shipped for that but if I wanted to completely match the stock hatch glass my only option is to buy a 4'x8' sheet and that would probably be at least 3-4x the total cost. Ill deal with the little gaps!

Thanks for the encouragement! I want to see the Fit get more love and help others along the way. Thank my wife for deciding to buy a new car so I can go apeshit on this one.

Started the small front windows....
looks like they weigh 915 g in total or a little over 2 lbs. I bet I'll save a pound in total with lexan, but what else am I going to do with the leftovers? 😂

Small front corners complete, here is a video how to. This can apply to any glued on window like the rear quarters

What I'm going to try is riveting from the center top and bottom out to the sides. It can bend quite easily so i dont think heat is needed. It's a fairly linear curve too so, it should be ok. I'll find out in a couple days.
THEN I need to do some pull videos. NA only for now, not sure if I'll have the $150 to fill the nitrous bottle and also afford to go to the track. On that note, please subscribe to my YouTube channel and help fund this car! 🤣😉
