Does the color of GF210's bother anyone

Does anyone with Tanabe GF210's have a problem with the fact that they are RED?? I believe you can still see a bit of them just from glancing at the car??? Or are they not visible at all?

koolkevin1107 Sep 7, 2007 10:50 PM

yeah u can see them if the car is facing downwards a hill and your directly behind the car bent down or if u look through the spokes of rims. If u have factory wheels, u can't see them from the sides. No i don't have a problem. In fact, it looks twice as cool!

Apex77 Sep 7, 2007 11:05 PM

It might look cool with VBP, Milano Red, black, or white, but I dunno about SSM and the others

kelsodeez Sep 8, 2007 12:41 AM

all the tanabe stuff is red. wtf? i have green teins and my fit is black. oh well. im more interested in functionallity than looks anyway. one thing i wish, the front upper strut bar was a one piece. oh well. T1R TO THE RESCUE!!

I have them, you can barley even see them even when you are looking for them. They made a drastic change (for the better) in my handeling performance so who cares if somebody one day accidently realizes I have red springs in contrast to my SSM  Here are a few pics, I can't even see any red in them unless I take close-ups of the tire. Anyway, just my 2 cents. Cheers!

Thanks for the pics Sugar. This gives me a clearer picture of the situation.

I like them, I don't think I've even noticed the color from outside though haha. I got a red theme goin on so it helps =) lol

Sugarphreak Sep 9, 2007 12:46 PM

No problem Apex77, if you any other questions about them let me know! I would love to see a skid-pad test with the before and after of these springs because I swear the car sticks like glue to the road!

haha, I did rub in the front with these tires. I looked into rolling my fenders, but the shop I took it to was worried it was going to look crappy (They didn't have that nifty Tire-Rack tool I have seen posted elsewhere in the threads). In the end I switched them out for 195/40/17's. I will note the 205 tires from the pic are a lot bigger in width and diameter than they should be, I have heard running BF-Goodrich or Falken tires of the same size will actually reduce the rubbing to almost nothing because they are a physically a smaller tire. But the 195's are freaking awsome! No rubbing, I even took my car out to Autocross and had zero rubs. lol, 195's only come in super-high performance tires so you can't go wrong :D

Anyway, I highly reccomend the springs. You could probably wrap them in hockey tape or something if you don't like the color :D Personally I think it kind of gives a suddle cool image to the car if somebody catches a glimpse.

Wasn't your wheel 17x7 though? Will the 195/40/17 tire fit on my 17x7.5?

Sugarphreak Sep 9, 2007 07:02 PM

It should, 195mm = 7.7"... so your tires would still be a touch wider than the rim. When I get a chance I will take some up close pics of my new tire and post them up so you can see.

Edit: I did some digging and found an approved width chart Rim / Wheel Width If you take a look on this web site, there is a 195/40/15 that is approved for a 6-7.5" rim. So should be ok on a 17 (Best to talk to your tire guy to verify though!)

Okay guys. Say I can't live with the color of the GF210's.
What other options do I have (same drop front and back, same quality, etc)? Skunk2's are also red, so assume those are out too.

Ok colors ... Black, blue, silver, gray.

I'll probably still go GF210, but I just want to know what other options I might have.

Thanks

doctordoom Sep 10, 2007 05:43 PM

if you want the same drop and quality of those tanabes, you can consider buying exactly those and then painting it black or whichever color you prefer

Sugarphreak Sep 10, 2007 05:52 PM

Eibach Pro's sound pretty nice, Illusive runs them. I believe they are black.

radareclipse Sep 19, 2007 11:20 PM

Does anybody running the GF210 coils notice any coil slap on the rear's. It looks like the coils are a little close together and I hate hearing them make contact when you drive. I need some feedback as I'm considering these.

HONDAMATIC Sep 22, 2007 04:35 PM

i wish my df210s were pink pearl like the ones on the box, would add some contrast hehe
