Lowering kits
 

Does anybody know of any low cost lowering kits? Something like a good strut and spring combination.

I know it's an old fashioned way of lowering but it worked well on my Accord.

I just installed eibach lowering springs on my oem struts and they work great, very little tire rub unless I hit a massive pot hole lol

I am only concerned that the shorter springs will destroy the oem shocks pretty quickly. I had to replace them with gas shocks on my Accord for that reason.
But I'll look in to it. Thanx!

I asked the mechanic about that, he said between the weight of the fit and the drop being only 1.5 inches my struts should last me a few more years at least.

How much are you wanting to spend?

And how much stiffer than stock do you want to go? There is a thread floating around here somewhere with the sprinf rates of popular springs. I think Progress was closest the stock (but still stiffer) which is why I bought Progress.

The lowering we have had here with several 'maufacturers' have proven to work well as long as the drop was less than 1.5 inches. Those lowered more have been qyestionable. And be sure to measure ride height at all 4 corners before and after changing and the again after a couple hundred miles.
It is a good idea to get new and better shocks, adjustable types, but not required. Just make sure when you get only springs to hold the drop to 1.25 inches or less.
If you have access to spring tester to choose the stiffest one to the left front and the weakest to right rear. Yes there are almost always a little difference even for 'same' springs.
