Class action ODOMETER Law settlement - Warranty extension

But only by another 1800 miles (from 3/36000 to 3/37800).

Got my letter today concerning the proposed class action lawsuit against Honda alleging that the odometers are overstating mileage anywhere from 2 to 4%. In the proposed settlement Honda will increase the warranties by 5%, thus 1800 miles added to the 36000 warranty.

It says 2007 Fits are included along with all Honda and Acura vehicle models 2002 through 2006 and sold between 4/13/2002 and 11/7/2006.

Now to figure out if this letter was sent to me for my Fit or my 04 Acura RSX.

A copy of the full Settlement Agreement is available at:

Are all 07 Fit affected by this problem?

that means... i am getting 5% less MPG than what it says on my dashboard computer.. lol

that means.. peoeple getting bad MPG are getting "worse" MPG than what they "think " they are getting ..

is there a fix/repair for this?? like upgarde software/firmawear or replace the milage module/computer???

anwyway... this is not good...

Don't know about the lawsuit... or this dashboard computer you speak of... but I always check the mileage vs. the amount of gas I put in. Only way to get the most accurate mpg imho.

I think we should all write the lawyers involved and tell them this is a bad deal . as it does nothing to honda and gives us a mere pittance of real problem which is mpg are no where near accurate. That is fraud, they should have to fix and compensate or offer buy backs.
The lawyers are making out like bandits (imagine that). But we are oh well.
Not a good solution and do not care how much you like the car it is knowingly fraudelant.
and the solution does not do much ,after all it is a honda and not much to go wrong anyway.
But will not buy another honda after this if it resolves as proposed.

I'm expecting to get my Fit next week. Since the Honda Odometer Class Action web page states:
If you bought or leased a model year 2002 through 2006 Honda or Acura automobile or a model year 2007 Honda Fit, in the United States or its territories, between April 13, 2002 and November 7, 2006, you may be entitled to receive benefits under a class action settlement.
Do you think it would be safe to assume that this Odometer variance issue has been resolved?

Nice choice. How much are you asking for the fit?

Havn't decided yet, I m going to get a few scraps on the hood and bumper fixed first (rocks love the fit). I assume i could probably get 14ish for her but i'll have to do a little more research first.

That and i want to be 100% sure that the payments on an X will be do able with my new job.

Class action Law settlement - Warranty extension

I just received notice that all Honda Fits purchased between April 13,2002 to November 7, 2006 are entiltled to a Warranty extention of 5%. So we will have a 3yr or 37,800 Mile warranty.

In the past most manufacturers odometers gained mileage than the actual distance traveled. Companies traded on the idea of tolerance plus or minus. They made sure their average odometers gained mileage. Nice to see someone finally called a company out on this crase white collar money making ploy. Actually, I calculated my odometer error for my Dodge Caliber & my odometer LOST 2% mileage. Therefore, my warranty lasts LONGER than it should. I also recalculated all my MPG & my MPG went UP 2%.
