I just went through and browsed Mugen's parts list for the new RS...HOLY ****! I think I'm going to have to pass on the '07/08 model unless they drop significantly in price.

The headlights look EP3ish to me. I liked the look of the EP3 though. Let's not forget they have black housings. No more body matching paint!

We are also looking at the mugen fit...does the jdm fit no longer have color matched headlights or is that just something mugen did?

Honda Worldwide | October 18, 2007 "Honda to Begin Sales of the All-New Fit in Japan"

They all look black w/a little bit of clear.

This tells us that Mugen has had access to the new Fit for quite a while now!

I'm really starting to like the new model but after spending so much $$ on this car, i can't justify changing over.....yet...

Only thing I am disappointed in is the fact that they are still going with the NR wheels. I thought they would have gone to a larger 16" wheel...

The question is though, will they do so with the USDM Fit? If they put half the R&D and production they put into the 1st Gen, I'll be set. It looks like Mugen has finally taken serious interest in USDM Hondas with the new Mugen Si sedan. Here's to praying they do the same with the Fit.

What nobody still knows is how the new Fit will have to change to meet US standards i.e. longer nose, longer rear bumper etc thereby changing the look of the entire vehicle. while th Mugen looks great I fear that we will be in the same quandry, All of these parts worldwide and none fit our vehicles.

Mugen's involvement with the US market all depends on whether or not the 09 design has built in (room for) bumper supports that will pass the US restrictions. If it doesn't then we will see the same thing we have with the first generation, which is longer front and rear bumpers to accomodate larger rebars.

This is a picture of the 09 from the edmunds review:

does this rear bumper look like it even has a rebar behind it????

I'm not sure about the front, but I would tend to lean towards the fact that we will be seeing a slightly longer Fit in 2008..

word. It does impress me, but the price leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully no one will buy the us spec mugen si sedan, so that that way, they realize that in order to get us to spend so much on more than just a lip or shifknob, they need to tune the engine for us as well.

again, i like there stuff, but its needlessly overpriced.

It's true that we don't know for sure, but there's a better chance it won't change from one market to the next. The first generation Fit was designed to be sold in the European and Asian markets only and therefore had to be adapted to work in the N.A. market. However with the second gen Fit, it was definitely designed to be sold in all markets, North America included. So more than likely the N.A. safety regulations were integrated from the start and there will be little to no change when it arrives here.

I personally think the current model looks better than the new one. I would need to see one in person to maybe fall in love with it. Hopefully I can take some pics when I go on my trip this xmas.

Sweet! Nice looking. I think it follows the new styling, not the current, right?
