spacer

just what to know!

what are the advantage and dis advantage of using spacers?

does it helps in offsets and some rubbing issues?

thanks for all your fast replies!

it could help with offset and rubbing issues, depending on the application. also it gives the car a wider stance, given the same wheel/tire combo. which looks better in some people's opinion. and a wider track could be better for handling too i think?

I had to put spacers on my front 15mm... hub centric, because my Watanabe wheels were hitting the caliper. They are fine now. I bought an extra pair to use in the back to match, but it caused too much rubbing over bumps... so i took them off. I have that extra set for sale if you're interested, PM me.

Does the spacer fit the rear wheel? I would think the rear need the spacer more than the front. What brand is this?

it fits the rear fine... My rear wheels are flush with the body, but my fronts stick out slightly. It actually looks pretty nice. It is still new, I paid $100, will sell for $80.

Spacers

Has anyone installed spacers on their Fit? what works with minimum hassle for maximum looks. For example I'd like to install 10mm back and front but I heard new longer bolts must be pressed. Can anyone recommend something? Is there a product out there that does not need taking apart the hub to replce the bolts ? I have stock 15 inch Sport wheels and the car is not lowered. Thanks in advance

Hi JackBurton I suspected so... So I am trying to figure out how those would install.. I assume the provided lugs would install flush with the spacer which is mounted on the hub on original bolts? ...and the wheel would fit in those bolts mounted on the spacer? am I right?

what brand are those? what material are they made of and where can one buy them?

Thank you so much!

petren 01-19-2008 12:26 AM

Actually I found the place on where to buy those but there is not much info on those such as what they are made of or basic instructions. As I am not mechanically inclined, I have trouble understanding how they would mount so a pic , some advice or a copy of the instruction sheet for the set would help a lot. Thank you so much.

in the pic above.. see the holes? Your lugnuts go through those holes... depending on the width of the spacer (in my case 15mm) you have to have aftermarket wheels with cut outs for your stock bolts to fit in to. Because your stock bolts are slightly longer than 15mm. Sorry, that's the best I can explain it.

Im not sure how it would work with 10 mm... and with 20 I presume it would be deep enough you wouldnt need to worry about precuts in your wheels.

I hope that makes sense.

yup, that was exactly my concern... Thank you for the reply!
