16"-7" +36 too aggressive?

I'm going to order Wedssport SA90's today, they come in 15"-7" +38 and 16"-7" +36. Would +36 be a little too much even with 4 rolled fenders? I plan on running a 205/45/ tire. I'll buy the 15's if It wont work even with the fender massaging, but I'd rather have 16's.

I have 15x7 +13 you'll be fine with a 15. but the 16 may rub more depending on the drop you have. I only (with fenders rolled almost flat) on turns where I hit bumps or go at them at an angle.

Here's a picture for reference.

FYI this was before the fender rolling.

sorry I should have mentioned I'm ordering skunk 2 coilovers as well. To be honest I'm not worried about the 15" just the 16".

JDMchris.com 07-07-2008 12:33 PM

15's will be fine... 16s you will rub, but if you set your suspension stiff as hell you can probably get away with just some minor rubbing.

You WILL RUB badly if you do not roll the fenders once you drop your car. At stock height i dont think you will rub much.

I'm going to roll as much as i can before I even have the wheels, and will be doing coilovers at the same time. I just dont want to be stuck with wheels that wont work at all even with rolled fenders.

get a camber kit and call it a day. i had 16x7 +38 offset. really low on skunk2 coilovers. 205-45-16 tires. moderate rubbing in the front. i just dealt with it. meh. now im on 15x7 +40 rims with 195-55-15 tires. no rubbing whatsoever

Any recommendations? I bought the SPC but was not too pleased with what it actually was.

Depending on how much you roll the fenders 36 mm on a 7" rim width is pretty much going to rub even with 195 tires. You can check yourself by seeing if you can run a 3/4" board between your 195's and the inner fender. When you cant, 195's, much less 205's, are out even with wildly rolled fenders.
Course, one would assume going to wider wheels would be to accomodate wider tires. I'll virtually guarantee the you'll get rubbing with a 16x7 wheel at 36 mm offset mounting 205/45x16 tires.. As has been said many times 42 offset if you don't drop; 45 mm if you do, on any aftermarket wheel.
Good luck.

hay man you should be fine i'm running 16x7 TE's with a +33 offset on skunk2 springs and i get no rubbing and i haven't rolled my fenders

Raaaaaaaaaay. 07-07-2008 07:48 PM

With Skunk2 coilovers and their stiffness youll be fine. Even with untouched fenders. Youll rub a tad depending on how low you are. Go for it, get the 16's.

My fenders are rolled/pulled. Im running 16x7 +35mm. I even went a little ballsy and got 215/40/16's. No rubbing
Before my wheels were 15x7 +26mm on 195/50/15's with no rubbing. Before that I was on 15x6 +12mm with minimal rubbing.

ingalls. but isn't the the kit just bolts for the front and washers for the rear?

Raaaaaaaaaay. 07-07-2008 08:44 PM

I think all camber kits for the Fit are going to look cheap. Its 2 bolts and some washers.
You cant expect much.

thats what im thinking. adn, couldn't you JUST get the front camber kit? as the rear is only washers?

Raaaaaaaaaay. 07-07-2008 09:03 PM

Whats the price difference of a front kit VS a front/rear kit. Cant be that much as the washers shouldnt even add to the price. I know when I worked at Dodge/Jeep our washers were nylon. We never even used them. If the rear camber was off that bad the car was in a wreck.

From what I remember looking up part numbers on Ingall's site they offer a more extreme adjustment now. Almost 3 degrees up front? 2 camber bolts I believe?
I dont really see how thats possible, there wasnt much room for adjustment with the OEM strut/shock and the lower mount.

solbrothers 07-07-2008 09:06 PM

maybe dremel the strut to make more adjustment? idk, sounds crazy but might work
