Will i have rubbing problems? Enkei RPF1's

Looking into ordering some Enkei RPF1's in 15x7.0 with a 41 offset. Will i have any problems being as im lowered with Skunk2 springs? If i wont have too many problems what would be the best sized tires?

I am using 195-55-15s on mine..... My car is at stock height and I had very slight rubbing on the front when cornering over a bumpy road surface but squeezing the plastic inner fender liner by hand fixed it.

on skunk2 springs? nah.

Nighthawk_GD3 Aug 13, 2009 07:49 PM

How do you guys think the black RPF1's will look on a NHBP? Also what about using 205/50-15 size tires?

Necos07 Aug 13, 2009 07:50 PM

205/50/15 will look good but I do think your gonna rub (not alot but some with bumps & hard turns). Stock size & offset is 55mm w/15x6 so your extending the wheel out a total of 27mm

Nighthawk_GD3 Aug 13, 2009 07:53 PM

Will it be ok mounting 195/55/15 on a 15x7 wheel?

Necos07 Aug 13, 2009 08:03 PM

yeah you will be fine

I have RPF1s 15x7 +35 dropped on skunk2 springs with the stock tires. I did the fender liner mod before I got the wheels on so I couldnt tell you what exactly that helped with. I rub on large dips/bumps and smaller ones when the wheel is turned. I just installed camber bolts tonight and I should rub even less than I did before. I am currently home at the moment so I dont know how it will do in areas that rubbing usually occured. You should be fine with the higher offset

if you use 205/50 tires you will rub the front clips on hard bumps/dips if you don't do any modifications to reduce rubbing. i don't know if you'd still rub with 195/55 tires.

How come the 205/50's will rub and the 195's wont? On 205/50's the overall diameter is .37" smaller than 195/55's?

The extra width of the tire is what is causing the rubbing. 10mm extra seems minute, but that's all it'll take.

When I had my BC wheels in 42 offset w. 205/50/15 I rubbed front and back slightly. I was dropped on Tanabe GF which is a similar drop to the Skunks. Your best bet is to stick with 195/55 or 195/50.

Thanks a lot for the input guys. Now i just gotta make sure those are the wheels i want. So im headed to the Modacar shop here in a few to look at a few other things and just because :)

no problem, good luck!

JDMchris.com Aug 14, 2009 09:24 PM

get the 205's.... they will rub... but it handles SOOOO much better.

B1str0 Aug 14, 2009 09:40 PM

when i was on my ssr's i didnt rub on 195 50's but now that im on 205 50's with my slipstreams i rub on hard dips and turns... mind you my fenders are rolled and fender liners tucked.. 205's feeeeeel so much better but look chunky..

Nighthawk_GD3 Aug 14, 2009 11:00 PM

I dont really wanna roll my fenders. But what do you mean by fender liner's tucked?

B1str0 Aug 14, 2009 11:30 PM

pulled out of its normal position and pulled above the lip on the inside of the fender

Nighthawk_GD3 Aug 14, 2009 11:40 PM

With the 205's, will the rubbing be bad to the point of causing damage to the tire or fender? Or is it not enough to really worry about?

JDMchris.com Aug 15, 2009 01:33 AM

no it wont be bad.
