GE8 Sport Wheels on GD3

I got myself a set of these awhile back ago, still running on these skinny 185. I am needing new tires soon and I read some other post that 205 works on these wheels. The inside of the wheel has a # "53" on it. I am assuming this 53 is the offset of these wheels but would like to confirm here again. Many of you had said ~35 offset should not have rub. By looking at this, I might have rubbing issue and maybe needing spacers. Please advice!

The OEM Sport wheels are 16x6 +53 (yes, 53 is the offset). And 205s, depending on the aspect ratio, will fit on the wheels.

The thing about 205 width tires... most of the folks that talk about it... are talking in relation to the GE itself.

You need to make sure your GD can fit the 205s.

Where are you rubbing? The thing you need to remember about offset is... the more positive the number, more it "sinks" into the car. The less positive (or more negative) the more it PUSHES out from the car.

So, if you have rubbing on the shocks/struts, then you need LESS offset.

If you are rubbing on the liner near the fender, then you need MORE offset.

If you are rubbing with 185, you're gonna rub even more with 205.
