I mean the following part. It needs to be taken out before you can reach the screw that hold down the hub right? I am having hard time taking it out.

Has anyone driven hard yet on their new kits? So far, I've just been using the car as a daily with the kit and haven't really noticed anything. Just aesthetics... ;)

BlueCell 08-13-2008 05:37 PM

I've noticed quicker stopping power vs the old rubber lines. And when I hit the brakes, its more even instead of a nose dive. It's a slight improvement, but much better than stock. Looks great still.

yeah it definitely does look very very good.
:D

but the people who don't want the rear disk conversion can always paint their drums red or something

Shiiiet I can believe I missed this... I need check the GB's more often

so the group buy is really over? And if u want to get other type of pads and discs, what kind of factory model should be use? I mean under what type of car usage u should look to get the parts number ull need for brembo discs and hawk hp+ pads?

And what type of brake fluids u guys using? So much factors to change change braking performance :D Even if u dont have the K20 swap, its always nice to be able to stop right and w/o losing stability.

thx in advance for info!

BlueCell, after your installation, do you feel the rear wheel is not turning smoothly? For me, it feels like it's dragging a little.

first check that the parking brakes are not dragging,
then make sure the pads are not dragging either
then look at the outer edge of the rotor and see if it has a polished look (actually...do this first)
if so then the rotor is hitting the pad retaining spring like mine was:(

questions:

1) I notice the right brake is stiffer than the left, when I pull the ebrake on slope, I don't feel the brake distribute evenly, but both brakes are definitly working. I am assuming it's the ebrake cable that's causing this trouble.

2) I also notice that the left brake make noises occasionally while I hit the brake. This really can be a lot of things, like disc is touching capiler holder, or disc is touching the pads retainers, etc etc

Anyone has other thoughts on these situation?
