Perrenoud Fit 02-09-2012 10:15 PM

Hey Brudders I've had mine for over 2 years I wax it regularly and it still looks like the day I installed it. Def. 1 of my favorite mods. And it does a good job of lowering the temp.under the hood. These are like art work for your Fit!
Vinny are you making these now? or still help'n Jim?

I have been contemplating getting one of these to feed the primary turbo, depending on where it ends up sitting over the transmission..

Rollerboots666 03-30-2014 02:05 AM

I'd be down for a CF one myself. Is anyone making these anymore?

Fitguy07 05-08-2014 06:44 PM

Doesn't water get right into these scoops easily and cause rusting around that area? How is it prevented with this mod or can it be?

StakerFit07 05-08-2014 07:02 PM

there may be a way to design a sort of a water deflector and still be able be used as a scowl... I was looking at it when I received it. I mean the engine is alluminum if I stand corrected...

Fitguy07 05-09-2014 10:00 AM

Yeah, even if it is aluminum, I'm talking about anything in that area really that can rust. I'd assume most people only use them in dry weather?

What was Honda's intention with that cover anyway? It just pops right off, I don't get it.

Ahhh beautiful Jersey weather. Yeah it wouldn't be too much of an issue here in Southern California.

Fitguy07 05-10-2014 09:24 AM

Yeah I envy places with better weather. Here I have to worry about torrential rain, snow, sleet, ice, salt, potholes, it really beats the car up.

Rollerboots, do you know what that cover was for though in the first place? Why did Honda design it?

I don't. Its interesting though that it would have a pop out there. I just saw my first cowl yesterday. It makes sense on helping put air into the engine bay though.

kylerwho 05-11-2014 02:13 PM

I live in Seattle and did wet weather testing. It's amazing but my brake reservoirs don't get wet regardless of how hard it's raining. It doesn't let water into the engine bay like you think.

Okay great, good info.

After driving to NYC and back I felt my intake pipe and it was def. warm but over near the filter was much cooler. I was looking for something to let the hot air expel especially during city driving.

It's just odd the Honda has that pop off and never made a OEM replacement cowl to actually attach there.

Thats good to know although I don't have to worry much about there here in San Diego.

Sure would be nice if that website had the product listed. Maybe with a price too.

jgpoirier 05-15-2014 02:17 PM

I got mine a few months ago. I think it was 85$ for the plastic one and a 110$ for the carbon don't quote me. Just send Jim an email.
