Hydraulic Hood Struts/Dampers

I don't know why no one is offering a hydraulic hood support/strut kit for the 2015 and later Fit. Maybe not enough Fits have been sold, but it's just a matter of redesigning the brackets.

Have any of you found a kit that can be easily adapted to work on the 3rd generation Fit?

eBay and aliexpress sell them. I'm tempted to do it, but i figure the one manual lever is lighter than 2 struts :)

Lol weight reduction is key!!

I have never had a car with a hood strut before now but I do really like it. The Fit should only need one for its tiny hood.

I put them on a Ford Escort coupe, and there were two supports. I think that was because of balance - even holding - and also because they were mounted far back - near the windshield. The explanation I got for that was that some people like to show off their engine "decorations," and struts mounted up front would interfere with the view.

Thanks. I've never seen them listed for a 2015 before. I'll buy a set and see how they work out.

These would do my 2015 and my son't 2019.

Yes having it in the back would be best for view and if you need to work on the car. My GTI has one on the passenger side near the firewall. 2 would be best for even balancing and to keep the hood from flexing though.

Problem solved! I ordered two sets of these for my 2015 and 2019. They will be shipped free by SpeedPak so I'll get them toward the end of March. I think "SpeedPak" means they pack it quickly. Then it will be placed on a slow boat from China. Thanks for the tip, Rismo.

On Saturday, I sent a radio by Prioroty Mail from NY to CA to be repaired. It arrived the next day - Sunday - but the PO was unable to deliver it. No one was at the business. Surprise! ;)
