Hey everyone,

Before anyone recommends to go with a K swap (which most will do), I would like to know which boosted setups on the L15 has been successful. I would appreciate it if you can dump a few threads here for me to read and to see.

I'm interested in making about 250hp and would like to know if me sleeves will be able to handle that kind of power. I would like to keep the weight of the car as is and this is the main reason for now doing a swap, and to also have something different.

What chassis code? GD, GE, or GK?

Problem I ran into with the GD is all of the kits have been discontinued. Greddy, HKS, Top Fuel, etc are all out of production. There is not even a good manifold available that I'm aware of. Only a eBay, Chinese tubular manifold that looks like the welds are waiting to crack.

I ended up picking up a Top Fuel kit from eBay, but there is no part of that kit capable of any real horsepower.

I know you don't want to hear it, but a k swap is likely the best way to have 250hp. You say you want to keep the same weight, but a manifold, turbo, wastegate, bov, piping, intercooler, oil and water lines, etc all add weight. I'm not sure that a k swap isn't lighter in the end.

 

I have a Honda City GM6 and it shares the same chassis as the GK5, except that I have the SOHC motor (L15Z1 - similar to the L15A7,just the intake design is different)

I understand yeah, it's not really a weight thing, but a K swap in South Africa is very expensive. For the engine alone with ECU and gearbox, we're talking something like ZAR 55 000.00 (roughly USD 3900.00) then there's still fabrication involved and so forth. For ZAR 55 000.00 I can do so much more.

To be honest, I will be happy with 200hp at the wheels. My engine shares the same gearbox as the L15A7 as well. Anyone who has boosted their L15A7, please post links, I would love to see.

 

The new Turbo Civic has an L15B7 engine.

I wonder if anything related to that engine would work in the Fit.

 

​​​​​​As far as I know, all L15 blocks share the same rear mount. I think VTEC Academy is researching the other mount points. So it is possible. Just not yet.

 

There is a supercharger kit made for L engines by Rotrex. Damn pricey though. 5K
