Curb Rash

As the title suggests, I have a case of curb rash. Its small so I don't feel too bad. I was wondering if there is a way to polish this out. I was thinking really fine sand paper. Does anyone have experience with this? What did you do?

Food for thought, and pontification:

I have no experience in fixing this sort of thing, just let it be; especially on those dark chrome rims.
I suppose you could look to smoothing it down with a series of increasing grade of file until the furl is gone and plastidip the whole rim.
I'm almost certain someone will suggest a rim repair practice that specializes in this sort of thing: i imagine those services cost on par with the price of a new rim on the fit however.

Update. I went to a wheel repair place and they quoted $100 to buff it out with a grinder....I think a Dremel tool. I decided to use 180 sand paper and a light touch. It looks pretty good and I saved $95! I will post a photo later. Not perfect but I can live with it. The rim is perfectly straight so I don't want to replace it. Maybe a little more sanding can take out the pitting. Its $100 to repair or $100 for a used rim. So I will just suck it up and live with my mistake.
