What do you think of the design? It reminds me of the EP3 a bit.

Can anyone translate? Looks somewhat convincing in this brochure.

220 horsepower from a 1.5 turbo. Yea if they bring anything like that to the States I will order one the second I can. A proper hot version of the Fit would be a hoot and I would buy it instantly. Even just an Si version with the hatchbacks 1.5 turbo engine with 180hp would be totally awesome.

Realistically though Im worried the new model wont even come to the US.

robertsmithfromthecure 06-30-2019 09:24 AM

Yeah, I feel the same as you. Hopefully the Civic Type R is an indication of how they will market it in the US.

Here is another article on the speculation around a possible Fit Type R:

Never thought I'd want another Fit being as happy with my 2nd gen as I am, but damn I want this. Seeing as well as the Civic Type R is selling here I'd be surprised if this wasn't sold stateside as a cheaper alternative.

I don't like the headlights. They look like angry eyes.

hasdrubal 07-03-2019 03:20 AM

Even if this model doesn't make it to the US market, it would be interesting if the mounts could be used for a Civic 1.5t swap. I know Axion was working on this, but there haven't been a lot of updates.

lol honda fit type r... even if it comes to us, dealer mark up would be crazy.

they should've just names it honda fit SI =S

silverrose12 07-03-2019 09:24 AM

nice torque and horse..... if the weight is under 2800 lb, i am pretty sure it ganna be crazy winding road car

also, i wonder if they would put LSD, better suspension, tires, shorter gearing etc....

evilchargerfan 07-03-2019 09:33 AM

i'm all for this, and hope the states gets something similar

silverrose12 07-03-2019 10:30 AM

yeah i am all for it too..

ill just swap the block way cheaper

2Rismo2 07-04-2019 12:50 PM

It would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

Hopefully it won't just be a better motor, but an upgraded suspension as well. Rear disc brakes and that torsion beam has got to go...

Myxalplyx 07-04-2019 04:50 PM

I don't believe it. Especially if it would weigh anything near the current model fit (2500-2700lbs). It'd have the potential to outrun a Type R. This ain't happening. Maybe....MAYBE the 1.0ltr turbo the European Civic has, which makes 130hp/145lb-ft of torque.

Also, if they ain't making it in a CVT transmission, I could care less. :violin: :rotfl:

Unless Honda breaks tradition, every type R is a manual. Like Ford's ST trim always has (or had) a manual.

silverrose12 07-05-2019 12:33 PM

if they do, engine swap would definitely be an option hehe

Mercyhold 07-11-2019 02:05 AM

Seems like there is no spot left for it to fit to the current US line up.

Yeah, tbh the more i think about it, the more i figure this will be the case. I can't see it doing anything more than hurting the CTR sales. I would trade my Fit in in a heartbeat if it did have a release over here.

mike410b 07-12-2019 08:53 AM

It isn't happening.

People have been talking about stuff like this since 2006 (at least in the US), it hasn't happen. It won't happen.
