What you DONT like about your Fit
I agree with you 100% about the front lip being too low.. It's difficult for me to drive anywhere and not have my front bumper knocked loose from the fenders. Mine is a first generation GD-3 sport model..
42 mpg on one trip not unusual, trick is to check gals used to miles driven over a few tankfuls, so that the average is taken.Without a/c have done 38 but with about 35.
Yeah the front is a bit low for some driveways and even speed bumps
I contemplated lowering it, but I think I will pass.
I find myself driving it like I'm slammed in some case
I also don't like that I have to press the paddle in S mode to get 1st gear
Its like its in auto until I press the paddle. If I pick S mode then go to 1st gear.

I've had my manual Fit Sport for six months now, and I gotta say the thing I dislike the most is the shifter. I've owned 5-6 manual-transmission cars in my life, and I think the Fit shifter has the worst 'feel' of all of them. The 2-3 shift is the worst -- I have to really jam the stick forward to make sure I'm actually in third gear. I wonder if that can be adjusted ...
No switch on the cargo bay light. The plug-and-play alternative lens in the Crosstour, with a switch, costs $2 more ($11 vs $9) at dealership parts prices. At wholesale OEM prices, they saved maybe 50 cents.
Dead Pedal
I know that the lack of a dead pedal was a big concern for most people. In my case, I would prefer NOT to have it. I am tall 6'4", and my (Big)foot tends to slide between the clutch pedal and the hard plastic. Result, frayed carpet, and sometimes a momentary hang up w/ the pedal. And I would appreciate the few extra inches of space!

People have gotten dead pedals out of other Hondas and used them in Hondas that didn't have them like the Odyssey. Not sure what will fit the Fit. A Civic "Bracket Footrest" is only $6 or so new and they are likely plentiful at the salvage yard.

I have the Zeta products dead pedal. My main gripe is that I feel like it is too vertical. I would have like more angle on mine. It's better than nothing though. It's an essential mod for me, I use it all time (except when shifting)!
I change my MTF every year or so. It's a must. Last month my car was shifting awful. 2007 with 154,000km on it. I changed the fluid. Been loving life ever since. I went to GM parts at he dealer, bout GM synchromesh and dropped that in. It is the best fluid you could ever do. I hate GM, but they got one thing right. Lol.
So you say a civic one will fit? What year civic will fit a 2007 Fit.
My 2010 Fit has a dead pedal. It looks like 09-up has it. From the PEDAL section of the parts list:
46991-TF0-G00 013 001 BRACKET, FOOTREST $ 9.61
46992-TF0-G01 014 001 PLATE, FOOTREST $7.22
90361-SV4-003 016 003 NUT, PAINT CUTTING (6MM) $ 1.90 (3 required)
Part 013 goes under the carpet and 014 goes on top. The only problem is the carpet is specific to models with the foot rest and the picture isn't clear on how you attach the bracket to the floor. Maybe someone who works at a dealer can comment.
Here is a 8th Gen Civic deadpedal. As you can see it is a hollow plastic part that bolts on top of the carpet. It looks like it would be modified to fit.

Dislikes: The need for after market sun visors, hard to find sun shades to fit the windshield, the paint job could be a bit better (thicker), and the color is a bit dark. I always want more color options, though.
Bought my Fit Jan 17, '13 base with 5 M/T, used with 3490 miles on it. Had to get used to driving a stick again, and it's just in the past few weeks that I'm finally getting decent shifts. I hate that the RPM stays up a bit when it's time to shift and that throws me off once in awhile. If I drive slow and shift slow, no problem. If I need to drive faster to keep up with traffic, I find that if I shift "rapidly" (not speed shifting) that helps. It's been frustrating to figure out the best way to shift. My last Honda was an '86 Civic Si, never had a shift problem with that car.
I have had a problem with the seats (as had many Fit owners). My chiropractor said take a long tube sock, stuff it with a towel and put in right next to my butt. It works - back pain is gone and I'm enjoying driving the Fit again. Also lowered the head rest to the bottom and that helps too.
The front window pillars are pretty thick. I usually don't notice, but once in awhile I have to look around the pillars to see an oncoming car. Wish they'd be thinner. (Yeah, I know there are air bags inside....) argh
Other than that, I really do like the Fit. I have always gotten better MPG than what EPA says and it is a fun little car to drive.

I use a sunshade made for pickup trucks. It's tall enough to cover top to bottom. It is also too wide but I simply leave the ends unfolded.
Don't like the Gas tank!
I herd the gas slosh around. I go over a little bump and it sloshes, I make a tight turn and it sloshes and hits the side of the tank for a soft thud. A sudden stop and several thuds from the gas going back to front and back. In my 50 years of driving I have never heard the gas before! What gives?
Gas tank is located under the driver side, so you hear it more than other cars that have the tank located in the back (more insulation).
Sometimes I hear mine but not usually. Not sure why that is that sometimes I hear it. It's not level related, maybe those days my ears are just more in tune.
