just picked up the car 2 days ago, got a chance to detail it today.
if you haven't clay bar 'd your fit yet, a kitten will die.

i'm guessing that these cars sit at port facilities for a long time, even though the dealerships seem to move them pretty quickly. i say this because my brand new fit put more particulate on that clay bar than i have seen on any other car i have owned. whether i purchased it new or used, i've washed, clayed, polished, and waxed it within a week of ownership. this fit gets first place for unexpected amount of accumulated fine particulate crap.

mileage as of today: 128.

O/W, the fit has been a lot of fun. can't wait to take it on track.

Can you tell me the benefit of claybaring a new car? How does it affect the clear coat of the car? I thought you only do that with an older car with swirlies and all.
