TPMS question
 

My tire pressure light came on last night after i got off work last night. i don't know the esact temp but it was either close to or below freezing. I thought this was the problem so i didn't pay much attention to it. well it was still on today in afternoon. how can i tell with tire is the one that is throwing the light? or do i just need to fill them all with some air.

you should spend some $ and get a tire pressure gauge. your tires need to have
32psi cold (before you drive). you're below 27psi
which appears to be the threshold to trigger the light.

if you keep driving at low pressure you will eventually damage the tire's
sidewall and eventually cause it to tear.

get to a gas station and put some air in your tires. the pump should
have a gauge on there. you should have about 34psi while you are
driving in the winter time ("hot" pressure).

so, set it at 32psi minimum "cold" before you drive.
-or- 34psi if you've driven your car in near freezing temps to a gas station.

you should check at least once a month. better once every other week.

i agree.. jus go to a gas station and fill it up... and a word of wisdom... u dont have to pay for it... even if its a coin-op... just go inside and ask them to turn it on, they will, cuz legally... they HAVE to... its free... takes 5 min.... so DO IT!

you can get these cheapo air compressors for like $20-$25 at your local
autoparts store. then you can pump air from home or office or whereever.
just plugs into the 12v in the car. :)

i have a small compressor from Sears where it plugs into at 120v.
i still use a separate race tire guage though with a bleeder valve. :)

Yeah i may need to invest in one of those. but for this instance i just drove out to the gas station near my house and put some air and it went away real quick
