i've had a weird smell ocassionally coming from my vents when i have my defrost on for an extended period.

i took it to the dealer and they found nothing wrong, they said maybe something just got in there that had to find its way out.

yeah i would have to guess you're burning your clutch too, just because you said it's when you're on a steep hill. that's all we have to work with here haha. you're not riding the clutch are you (assuming this car is manual trans.)

you got an AT or MT???
I would say If you have an MT and you are dragging your clutch going uphill then thats probably it. If you are just doing a burnout going uphill (regardless of MT or AT) you will smell stuff funky from your vents. If there is a problem with your AC you will smell stuff from your vents. If your car is really new and you have not used the vents yet (not likely in this case) you might be smelling some of the plastic of the new venting (mine did that but it was of no concern at all though)

Maybe explain your situation more clearly (car and what you are actually doing) and maybe we can be of more assistance.:)

hopefully its not something bad:(

do you ever notice the smell at 4k when not going up a hill? (could it be a belt problem ppl?)
