I want a Fit?
Well, with gas prices going up, I want to get back into something lighter and 4 cyl. I have been driving 2004 GTO M6 for past half year and 17mpg avg is kind of getting old. I prefer railing corners than going fast in straight line anyway. That's why I'm considering Fit - I heard it's awesome at handling and I hope that's true.
I'm looking to buy Vivid Blue Sport with manual tranny and couple options like cargo cover and doors sills. Before going to dealer I'd like to know what's a fair price to pay for something like that? Do they go for MSRP? Slightly above invoice? Is there still crazy shortage? Buddy Club coilovers and some nice 16s would be the first mod and probably be done within a month :) I know this has been asked many times before, but I would appreciate the help anyway. If you prefer railing corners then going fast in a staright line definetly pick up the Fit. Esecially if you drop it and get the Progress sway bar in the back, it handles on rails for sure!
As far as prices in my area they are still being marked up over 1k above MSRP. But from what i understand anything under MSRP is pretty good deal on a Fit. Tyler |
I hope you are buying for other reasons then just gas mileage. Buying a new car just to save on gas is just throwing money away. If you need a new car gas mileage can be an important consideration. Otherwise spending thousands to save hundreds isn't the best move.

Thanks for good info, TOOL. |
you should just get the FitSport 5MT anyway cause it's a better car.

Anything around MSRP is a good deal. Right now with gas prices going up, dealers are marking these up by $1K and more. I have seen as much as $3K. But because of gas prices still climbing, people are still buying as sales numbers of cars like the Fit, Yaris, and Scion are up year over year, so dealers dont have much incentive to budge on the price. You just have to haggle or shop around to find a good deal.

Odd- haven't heard of any MRSP markup here in Canada. Dealer was able to find one in colour of my choice (SSM). Even got them to throw in keyless entry for free...

Are you serious? You could walk into any dealership in the area and get invoice first try. :rotfl:
