Considering it all (mileage, price, other pros & cons) would you buy the Fit again?

yeah i would buy this car again!

keep in mind that people are more likely express their opinions about something if they are upset about it. so seeing complaints about certain aspects of this car on the forums doesn't necessarily mean that they are big problems. this applies to many things besides cars as well. you are less likely to see people giving out random compliments in regards to the many positive things about this car.

Yes we would, and in fact, we did

Buying our first Fit was something of a necessity. We bought it at the end of March to replace an 18-year old Dodge Caravan with 150K miles so that I could use the Fit on a big trip to Colorado and Wyoming this summer. It has worked out so well for us that I recently sold our '99 Dodge Grand Caravan and we have a second Fit due to arrive at the dealer in several weeks. The only downside to this is that the second Fit will end up costing us $300 more than the first because of the higher demand now for this great little car. Speaking of 510's, I had a four-door wagon long ago and it was very nice. I also had a Datsun F10 two-door wagon that had about the same interior volume as the Fit and was said to get 41 mpg back in 1977. We are getting over 40 mpg on the highway in the Fit and it is VASTLY superior in my opinion to either the 510 or the F10.

I'm not the best person to ask, since I've only had the car for about 5.5 months, but I don't have any complaints about the car itself. I could go on and on about my dealership experience and my thoughts on most OEM USDM accessories (man, that rear bumper applique is a piece of garbage), but the car itself is solid. No problems w/ the paint or anything. I come from Subaru, though, leaders is terrible paint finishes.

Yes, I'd buy one again without hesitation. With all the money I'm saving on this car, however, my next ride is going to be a 335i, G37 or an Elise.

Yep, I'd stick with the Fit.

If I didn't need a car right away two years ago, I probably would have waited for the 09 Fits with the new features and in BBP (love the color!), but I'm glad I got my car. I still love it as much as I did the day I bought it (though I wish I didn't have a car payment, grrr) and have no regrets whatsoever.

I wouldn't have bought any other new car, I think. Maybe a used car to cut costs a bit, but none of the other newer hatches/small cars got me the way the Fit did, though I was so frustrated with the lack of Fits that I almost bought a Scion xA - glad I stuck it out and searched till I found my baby.

Even with its (tiny) flaws (paint quality, crappy carpet), the positives more than make up for any shortcomings. I say go for it!

At this point I would but the Fit again. However given the crummy paint quality over time my opinion may change.

I would definitely buy the Fit again - it has been one of the most fun cars that I have ever owned. I have owned a string of cars that were just that cars that got
me from one place to the next. When it came time to sell them, no remorse or sad
to see them go just moved on to the next one. I loved the Fit from the first time I
saw it on the internet until I actually got behind the wheel to test drive it. Then when my car did not come in as promised and I was going to have to wait another month - the MR Sport was offered to me. I can actually remember driving it home
to test drive with my Mom, and screaming - I love this Car!!! My salesman actually calls me Ms. Fit and the guys in the garage love to see the car back each time so they can see what new mods have been done! I had to get the site for them that I purchased my Ricardo Racing Cell Phone Holder for one of my favorite service guys and then they told me they got on Fit Freaks to check it out and thought it was a really nice forum!

Definitely, it was a tough decision to move on from my Prelude and I wasn't to sure at first. But after driving the fit for an hour I knew I'd made the right choice.

Absolutely.

I cross-shopped and test drove several other close competitors. Without a doubt the Fit was the most fun to drive and most well thought out IMO.

As far as the complaints etc. I've got news for you. Go to ANY car forum for ANY model of car, no matter what it is and you will find people complaining of some kind of issue. Whether its a tiny peel in the paint on the corner of the bumper or something else.

Fact is people rarely go on to car forums and post just to say "everything is perfect and nothing is wrong with my car whatsoever"

That said. I recommend serious test drives to anyone car shopping. If you place high importance on handling the Fit is pretty much impossible to beat in its class.

I would do it again in a heartbeat and that says a lot considering that I was 90% sold on the Scion xD before I test drove them both back to back.

I was actually close to getting a Yaris, but when I test drove one and saw how the back seats just.. fold down, not flush like the fit. I was sold on the Fit. I wonder what they complain about on their forums.

I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, only maybe in 5spd instead of auto. My fit replaced a 2000 prelude I had which killed me on gas (and it was premium) and had no room at all for me to carry anything. Im about to get married and need way more room than it had to offer, and with the economy like it is I dont have the extra money to waste going fast/racing/fixing up a car anymore. So I put horse power aside and got the fit. I havent gotten less than 32mpg yet with air always on, and it handles/carries big loads perfectly. The only thing I would do differently is hold out longer and try to sell the prelude on my own. Now im upside down in the fit and my payments are a littler higher, but to me its worth it for a brand new car.

Absolutley. I looked far and wide to get one. Only thing is i would wait to get a 2009. the new ones look like a huge step forward. have to imagine the new ones will be back ordered for the next decade.

YES!........until Alfa and Fiat return to this country and offer the Mito and 500 I will replace my 2007 Fit with the 2nd Gen Fit. Like all my Honda's in the past, the Fit has been flawless. Not that I don't believe the people complaining about peeling paint but I really find it hard to believe from a Honda made in Japan that has been on the market since 2001. Honda sold 2 million worldwide. Any paint problems would have been addressed long ago. I can't help to think it is unwitting mistreatment by owners.

Affirmative! I'd definitely get another, and if I could, I'd grab a second right now--a manual to go with my auto, and either do the HKS turbo kit or the KraftWerks supercharger kit, lowering, rims, racing seats, roll cage, etc, etc, etc.....

I also wish I could get other JDM Hondas that we still don't get, like the Life, the Zest and the Freed, which share the same chassis, or the Stream, or the Elysion. We don't need a huge Odyssey.
