16 inch factory allows for Fit?
 

I was at the dealer today getting my first oil change on my Fit, and while wandering around I saw a case with some factory add ons (Civic SI mufflers, break kits etc) and saw some 16 inch factory alloys for the Fit. I didn't know these were available. Did anyone here ever opt for those instead of the 15'' on the Sport? They looked pretty bland and the price was OUTRAGEOUS. They wanted $1840 or so for them. $1140 for the wheels, $540 for tires, and $130 for labor.

Just curious to see how many people bought these.

Well, the Fit sport comes with 16" alloys stock, so were you looking at those?

Nope, stock Sport alloys are 15"s.

He's talking about the HFP optional wheels. Yea, they are overpriced and not very hot. The 07s were silver, the 08s are a light gunmetal. A few folks here have them.

The wheels they had in the case were 16'' 8 spoke 4x100. The alloys I thought were stock are 15'' 5 double spoke 4x100.

doesnt the fit sport come with 15" alloys (5 spoke) machine face?

the 16"s are the HFP, Honda Factory Performance, Rims. (with 8 spokes right?) Something thats supposedly even crazier then sport accessories.

IMO, I wouldnt suggest these, even though they are honda. all that for basically 1" larger rims then the originals. Not only, but they do not have a more agressive stance, or lower offset then the 15"s.

Yeah, the ones you guys are talking about are the ones I saw. I didn't know those were ever available. Not That I would pay $1200 for some plain ass wheels.

Overpriced and heavy. If you like the look and don't care about performance, go for it.

I thought a Fitfreak vendor has these for like $135 a rim...

Says 2007, but what would be different? You could totally have these shipped and buy your own tires and come out ahead (i'd imagine).

I kinda checked on Benardi's parts list for my fit and the price they were quoting (near 320 just from a glance) included new TPMS parts... which was like 65 per wheel!

So I'd say that the Honda deal you speak of wasn't that great.

2008s have the tire pressure sensors, 2007 do not, and I assume the sensors wont fit in the 07 wheels. Way better off going aftermarket, will be cheaper, andthe wheels in most cases will be lighter than the stock 15s, where the HFP 16s are heavier.

The 08 wheels (Sport alloys and the HFPs) have an extra bit of milling done around the inside of the rim at the valve stem hole. It lets the TPMS sensor fit better. Check out this video:

And I had it backwards- the 07s were gunmetal and the 08s are silver.

Nice thing about the hfps is they stay that high offset so there is absolutely no rubbing issues. Bluecell has a set on his car and they look pretty bad ass on his vbp.

I have a set I bought for $1100 with 205/45 ZR 16 Toyo Proxes FZ4's. Somebody ordered them for a 2007, but didn't like the way they looked-I got them for "cost" at dealer in Atlanta. Of course, I soon found out the difference in 2007 and '08, the TPMS weren't installed. I got a "deal" for $75 each, ouch! Absolutely LOVE the change-very impressive difference flying low in the North Ga Mts, and a young chick at the mall commented favorably! Ha, I'm probably older than her granddad, so I feel like it was an honest opinion on the setup, certainly not about me! BTW I had a four-wheel alignment (HIGHLY recommended!) and they set the tire pressure to 45 psi, which seems to work great, I can't tell the difference from the 36 psi I was using ridewise and the edges stopped feathering. :vtec:

I would roll with them on my Fit but only if I could find them for under $140 per wheel. $250 or whatever is too much for me to spend on stock-ish wheels.

hope they didnt charge you for a four wheel alignment, the only thing adjustable is front toe

majestic honda has the 16 inch HPF wheel for like 600 a set not sure about shipping

Those rims and tires were on my car when i test drove it... i told them i wasnt going to pay $3000 for rims and tires so they put the stock 15" back on. I like the way they look on the car and wish they didnt cost so much but thats what you get when you wanna play at the dealership...

ProMed: And they only cost $37,000 plus a $8,000 dealer labor charge! :)

Anyone know the tire size on the new US '09 Fit Sport? That pic looks like the tire width is 185.
