engine rpm

what is the engine rpm @ 100 kms/hr, 120 kms/hr?

60 miles/hr, 75 miles/hr, 80 miles/hr?

Hootie 09-28-2008 07:29 PM

For auto GD3s in 5th gear:

2.2-2.5K RPM ~ 60 MPH (can't remember)

2.8K RPM ~ 75 MPH

3K RPM ~ 80 MPH

GD3 MT revs significantly higher then the AT at cruising speed.

80 in the MT is closer to 4000 lol

do u find it noisy when the engine is revving @ 3000 rpm especially on long road trips?

MemphisFit 10-01-2008 03:51 PM

ive driven over 1000 miles of vacation time out of the 5 thousand on my car. cruising at 70-73 mph for a long time is optimal for mg. out of vtec

mugenpower88 10-01-2008 04:02 PM

at what rpm u hit vtec on the fit?

prelude_guy97 10-04-2008 10:36 PM

When cruising on the highway, I find the RPMs are higher than what im used to. But I find it's not too noisy.

For the GD3 MT, @ 100km/h, its right at 3000 RPM

110 was about 3300 and 120 was about 3700.

I just went on a trip last week. We drove 420km and it took 29 liters. We were constantly driving around 120-130.

I think VTEC is at 3400 RPMs.

VTEC is at 3400 RPMs if you drive normally, it can engage at as low as 2300 RPMs. Heres a topic were a member made a VTEC light for their Fit.

yep 3400 :)

mugenpower88 10-08-2008 12:12 AM

i guess most people hit vtec most of the time when shifting since it's pretty low at 3400rpm

mugenpower88 11-11-2008 02:48 AM

are the engine rpms pretty much the same for the 2nd gen Fit?

Hootie 11-11-2008 06:21 AM

I believ that they are the same for the auto, but shorter for the manual.
