New '06 Mugen Fit Concept!
 

well, i'm pretty sure everyone here goes a-wall when they see the fit dynamite. but the dynamite was presented all the way back in '04. well, i was just browsing on the mugen website, and look what i found:

I've had the Spec D screensaver up for a couple of weeks now - it's the car from the front driving on the front bumper of the same Mugen! Cool stuff

Maybe that is the Suprise for the US Fit release, They might have decided to just release the Mugen 2006 D as the US 2007 Sport.

I'm hoping they are going down the path similar to the Civic Dominator concept (Similar to Canadian CSX).
Dynamite was awesome, but they never released and parts they used to build it. It was a promotional tool rather than an aftermarket showcase.
The Type-D looks to have stick on flares rather than the heavily custom widebody on the Dynamite. I'm hoping they use the L15A in an exciting way as well. The K20 in the Dynamite was cool, but tuners and enthusiasts can't do that. I don't know where I would find someone to do all that fab work.
The Civic Dominator has a Roots type supercharger on it, maybe something similar for the Type D? I'm interested.

does anyone know what size and type of wheels that mugen fit use?

probably 16s or 17s.

I asked the same question, and apparently look like the Rays Gram wheels.

I think the wheels are Mugen sourced, they are 17x7J with +48 offset. The nice thing about Mugen Body kits for the Fit is that they color matched so no painting is required.

The new Civic Dominator is a beast, 300hp from the supercharged K20A engine.

Kentris, one section noted that the car had 205/40R17s.

In the same spec table, it's rated to 148ps. That implies a minimal amount of boost of around 7psi. On the same note, the HKS turbo kit (at 7psi) makes around 163ps. It goes to show that despite the installation complexity, turbos are significantly more efficient.

By the way, does anyone know the link to Top-Fuel's website? Apparently their turbo kit for the Fit makes ~204ps. However (knowing nothing about the kit), I'm assuming this is not simply a bolt on procedure. There's most definitely a compression drop with some new rods. I'd love to hear more on this if anyone has some info.

Regardless, making 260ps out of the K20 (NA) is a feat in itself. It has to have raised compression, new rods, new valvetrain, intake, header, exhaust, and CPU. Only a couple thousand dollars (not including $6000 for the K20R). Yikes. Don't forget the thousands of dollars for the swap as well.

I guess having 148-163ps for $4000 (est. guess) doesn't sound so bad anymore.
