Does drive-by-wire throttle system include cruise control?

I read the Fit Sport will have cruise control, but the Base model says it has a drive-by-wire throttle system. Then I read the following about the Pilot DBW and it made me wonder if the drive-by-wire throttle system automatically provides cruise control.

Here is the quote: "The more powerful engine is coupled with an innovative drive-by-wire throttle system, which reduces overall weight by incorporating the cruise control function, and helps to reduce shift shock by communicating with the transmission during up and down shifts. The Pilot DBW system replaces a conventional throttle cable arrangement with an all-electronic system that senses the accelerator pedal position and relays that information to a computer."

Oh, and I forgot to ask: If the drive-by-wire throttle system does not mean cruise control, does it allow for after market installation of cruise control, or does that require a cable system rather than an electronic system?

Drive by wire just means no cable between the accelerator (gas pedal / loud pedal) and the throttle body. The elimination of the cable results in more precise throttle movement, increased economy and reduced emissions. All Fits in NA will have drive by wire.

Other vehicles such as some BMWs also have steer by wire and brake by wire.

Aftermarket cruise control systems are avail that work without the need of a throttle cable. Factory cruise is still better.

The factory cruise control on the Sport Fit model has the controls integrated into the steering wheel which is preferable to stalk controls.

That clears it up and...

makes it easier to decide for the Sport. Thanks!

P.S. Besides, I wanted orange and it only comes in Sport.
